DO NOT LET THE PICTURE PERSUADE YOU! Truly awful for what it's supposed to be and Not at all worth your time or money - service was poor, prices are truly based on convenience and not at all the quality you'd be getting! A $200 ticket for 2 adults and a 4 yr old; You'd be better off paying to Uber somewhere further and getting true quality for this price! Went on a Monday, only minutes after 5pm. The details: The orange and yellow lighting started putting me to sleep while we waited about 40 minutes for our meals. The appetizers were mediocre and highly over priced. We got the flatbread with prosciutto, octopus, and the raw oysters. The flatbread was...good? But An odd combo of flavor with a sharper flavored cheese paired with balsamic glaze drizzle? Oysters were nothing more than what you expect from raw oysters. However, we did pay for the "meatier" ones (per the menu description), which were by no stretch "meaty". In fact, they weren't even big enough to cover /fill your typical saltine cracker. The complimentary bread was a sharp sourdough (which had almost too strong of a "sour" flavor) with very bland, albeit soft, butter. It was also too hard on the outside to eat beyond the middle without it cutting the inside of your mouth. I ordered the Parmesan crusted flounder and shrimp with broccolini and Brussels. It was a very generous sized portions with two large fillets of fish and half a plate of Brussels with 2-3 stalks of broccolini. The flounder was thickly breaded and pan fried, likely in old or dirty oil, based on how dark it came out (which was so dark you could hardly make out that there were herbs and parmesan mixed with the bread crumbs. ) There was no uniquely delightful flavor to - truthfully it was not much different than a box of Italian bread Crumbs with Parmesan added!!-- Something I could make at home honestly. The broccolini had no seasoning or character to it, At all, and was all very thick stem with hardly any florets to it. The brussel sprouts honestly were the only memorable part of the meal. The mixture they came with was actually very pleasant, maybe a diced ham in a delightfully lightly flavored balsamic vinegar or diluted glaze? The Brussels had just the right amount of crispiness to them as well. I don't eat shrimp but my 4yr old was happy with the texture and flavor of it; she likes gentle flavors that don't overwhelm the pallet. We also got her a side of shrimp scampi and the truffle Mac n cheese. By the time we got our food, she had grown inpatient, tired, and hangry and was no longer interested in spending more time at the table to eat. I tried the Mac n cheese and it had little to no truffle flavor and was very lacking in flavor at all. There was hardly any cheesiness to it and again something that could easily be made at home. Not worth it. All Shrimp seemed to at least be cooked to the right texture. The other meal was the scallops and risotto. It was the smallest portion I've seen at a place that isn't high end dining! It was MAYBE half a cup of creamy risotto that was loaded with.... Sweet peas...?! And had 4 scallops on it. Not just an accent of sweet pea, but every bite involved at least 3-4 peas. All the sweet peas completely drowned whatever pleasant taste the risotto may have had on its own, and turned it into a store bought bag of rice with powder flavoring that you throw on a stove top for 15 minutes! The scallops were fine though, good texture and flavor- Nothing to write about really. We had two waters, an Apple juice, and a one jack n coke. Highly underwhelming and left us feeling just as regretful and disappointed in ourselves as we would feel had we just gotten some...
Read moreTo start off, the atmosphere of the place is very chic and intimate. The appetizers that we had were the shrimp kisses and the oyster Rockefeller’s. Shrimp kisses were very season and very unique. I think you would fall in love with this dish. This could have been my main course. The oyster Rockefeller’s were not like any other Rockefellers that I have had in the past. This one taste sweet, it was very fresh, so I would say no to the oyster Rockefeller‘s. Now for our entrées, we were in a party of four, so I had the chef special signature stripped bass, the others had two fish and chips and one top salon. The top sirloin was wonderful and came out great. The fish and chips however, we’re very crispy as well as the fries, but The batter that they put the fish in was a little sweet and just didn’t taste savory enough. Last but not least, the signature strip bass, for this to be a chef special I’m thinking it should have been spent more time on because the fish I had was over cooked. It was flaky, but flaky in the sense of me cutting into a chicken and I don’t know if this is the way you present your dish, but the meat was on one side and the skin that was on the other side. I was thinking that it was meat on the other side but it was just, the burnt skin. I was not pleased and this is something you all need to go back in really train on . I cannot see myself paying $34 for a fish that is overcooked and does not have any sides to go with it, except for the little toppings, you have to go on top of the big piece of fish you have in the dish. The taste could’ve been better but the fish were still overcook. The flavor taste good and interesting but the fish was still overcook. Finally, the desserts. The desserts that we had were the pineapple butter cake and the upside down apple pie. I highly suggest that you all get these desserts they were 20 out of 10 the best one in my opinion was the upside down apple pie, it is really to die for. The last reason why I gave this place three stars was because of the server. When we gave the server our bill and paid for it, he /she never came back. I would like to suggest that you all train your servers proper elegance/ ethics and have them to try all the foods on the menu so they can explain thoroughly to your guess what the food taste like and not just to go with the price range. The reason for this is because I asked my server three things on the menu which one did he/she like and they automatically exit out the lowest price one and went with the two highest ones. Of course, the highest one was the chef special, and that turned out very poorly. So please let this be an eye opener and something you all can correct because this could have been way better, thank you. Also, don’t let people come into your establishment, begging for money, this is very tacky and me and my family had to deal with this as we were walking out the door. Ticket number: 60003 Ticket...
Read moreMy partner and I selected McCormick & Schmick's as we heard pretty good reviews about the food, ambiance, and service. We were celebrating our anniversary (on 8/27/22) and I asked them to make it special... we received a VIP card placed on our table and that's as special as it was. We didn't even get VIP service (or even decent experience) and nothing to make our anniversary dinner memorable.
The food was delicious. My partner ordered Oyster Rockeller and Lump Blue Crab Cake for an appetizer while I ordered the Iceberg Wedge Salad with blackened Salmon. For the entrees, I ordered the Dry Rub Black Angus Ribeye (center cut) while my partner ordered the signature Parmesan Crusted Flounder with Sautéed Spinach and Truffle Mac & Cheese. For drinks, my partner ordered the M&S Iced Tea, Adobo Chile Margarita (2x) and I ordered their Raspberry Mule. My steak was cooked perfectly and it was so delicious! Each bite melted in my mouth and was flavorful every time. The sautéed spinach was very garlicky, but, still good. Definitely recommend the Truffle Mac & Cheese because it was so good! My partner enjoyed his entree, but, couldn't stop raving about the Truffle Mac & Cheese and how good the steak was. The M&S Iced tea was good, the Raspberry Mule wasn't that great, but the Adobo Chile Margaritas were amazing! The only downside was the service. The host was impeccable, warm and organized. Our server was sweet; however, her service wasn't the best. Whenever we asked for something, it took her a long time to come back around to us or even check up on us.
Overall, it was a decent experience for the most part.
I requested our dinner reservation to be special, but, it wasn't. We received a black VIP service card on our table, but that was the only thing. What was special about that as we were celebrating our anniversary?
The service left a lot to be desired. Although the server was sweet and easy to communicate with, her service was not as attentive as it could be. She didn't check on us as often and if we did need something, it took quite a long time for her to circle back to us. We had to ask for bread for the table, I had to ask for a steak knife for my steak, we had to ask a few times for takeout boxes, and she took a very long time to return to our table with my card, which impacted us catching our Lyft. We had to get the server who brought us our takeout boxes to give her our payment for processing. It wasn't the best experience and it's odd to me as we've dined at other Landry's establishments and always had an amazing time from start to finish.
The things I mentioned are the reasons why I can't exactly give this restaurant 5 stars overall... the ambiance, the host and the food was impeccable. The service and lack of making a special occasion "special" is why I rated...
