First, the food was spectacular. Breakfast and dinner offered high quality, delicious food. Especially the berries! November is hard to find berries that are sweet, but everyday the berries I had were perfect. The salad I had for dinner was equally delicious and even included caper berries which are not often found or included in restaurants!
With all of that, the most incredible part of the experience was the service. Each morning Jeffrey greeted us so warmly. He was welcoming, and always so great to talk with. He even complimented my boots and each day we came in he found new things to talk with us about! When the restaurant was busy he took our name but then found us a place to sit in just a few minutes. His vivacious personality truly made our mornings brighter. Then, our breakfast server, Donita was superb. I have an allergy to wheat and usually can’t enjoy breakfast pastries, and she went out of her way to find me gluten free muffins! The second day we came in she even remembered my allergy so before we even grabbed our food from the buffet she ordered me gluten free muffins! This type of service is unparalleled. For dinner, we continued to have exceptional service. Yanesha was just as wonderful and explained the menu in detail and was quick to put our order in and bring our dishes to us! She explained that she is also salad girl and shared where she had the best Russian dressing in California. She made our experience so personable. And now I’m excited for my next trip to the west coast!
My husband and I were sad to leave today as the service we received was truly incredible. It’s rare to find a place where such delicious food matches not just one person providing stellar service, but the whole team. Next time I stay in Atlanta, I will always seek out the Omni and indulge at New South Kitchen. A huge thank you...
Read moreI've been to New South Kitchen twice and, both times, the food was spectacular. The first time I had a blackened fish sandwich that was perfectly seasoned and cooked.
The second time was really spectacular, though, and not just for the food. I stopped by to grab a dessert on my way back to my hotel room after a very long day. I was greeted warmly by Sherihan, the host, who was up front about being out of the dessert I wanted and helpfully offered alternatives. Unfortunately, they were also out of my second choice. Sherihan enlisted the aide of Alicia B, one of the servers. I have almost never been treated so kindly and graciously as I was by Alicia. She was so pleasant and genuine in wanting to make sure I had a good experience. She made a special trip to the kitchen to see what the chefs could produce and, in the meantime, Sherihan and I talked and she was just as genuine and awesome as Alicia. In the end, Alicia came up with a peach cobbler that was delicious. She also didn't charge me for it because they hadn't had my first two choices!
Even without the excellent food, I would come back to New South Kitchen any day because of the incredible service and genuine caring of the staff.
I hope that Alicia and Sherihan's supervisors are reading this because both of them are incredible employees and...
Read moreWe had breakfast Nov 3, 2024 and the atmosphere was lovely however the food quality needs improvement. Two stars for atmosphere. For over $60. For 2 people the meal should be incredible however was not. The buffet was depleted, bland and messy and the food (grits and eggs on the buffet) needed to be seasoned, in the south grits should have ample salt, pepper and seasoning, they were bland and watery. Waffles were cold. The same with the eggs watery and bland. The fruit selection of honeydew and cantaloupe needed more variety, those dishes remained full seemingly since not many guests enjoy melon. The omelet station was busy and was most likely the best thing however we are not big omelet fans. So we enjoyed a bagel with cream cheese and bacon. We were not guests in the hotel but with the Google reviews, chose to try the New South Restaurant because of such high ratings (4.7). Would not recommend breakfast, maybe they do better with a different...
