Kids enjoy playing in the Fountain of Rings in Centennial Park. But, I think that's true of other fountains as well.
As an adult, I didn't see much difference between it and other fountains I've seen elsewhere when I visited on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The Olympic rings are a nice touch. But I didn't recognize the Olympic rings until I looked at the base of the fountain instead of the streams of water. A more observant person might appreciate its unique beauty and symbolism more.
I do think it is worthwhile for persons visiting downtown Atlanta to take at least a few minutes to walk through Centennial Olympic Park and to view the fountain as part of that walk. But kids will likely enjoy the fountain more than adults, even if they don't appreciate its link to the Olympics. And they might give...

It's basically a flat concrete plaza and during the warm months, jets of water shoot out of the ground in various patterns and kids (and more adults than you might think) play in it. They also do a couple of choreographed water and song shows, the ones at night also incorporating lights.
