My husband and I stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and I am relieved we only stayed one night instead of the two we initially considered. For the exorbitant amount of money I paid for this hotel room, the experience was utterly UNACCEPTABLE.
Let's start with the few positives: the evening reception drinks were decent, and the dinner at Ruth Chris Steakhouse, located within the hotel, was passable. However, the customer service at the restaurant was appalling, and the furniture desperately needs replacing or refurbishing ASAP. The only redeeming factor was the drinks, but even that couldn't salvage our stay.
Now, onto the blaring negatives: the hotel room was an absolute disgrace. The level of filth was shocking for any hotel, let alone one under the Hilton name. There was mold in the bathtub caulking and around the baseboards near the toilet. This wasn't just a small spot; it was extensive and clearly a long-standing issue. There was also hair in the tub, which was disgusting, and the cloth shower curtain had visible stains on it, making us question the last time it had been cleaned or replaced. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly, leaving us with standing water every time we used it. The toilet was equally appalling, with visible grime that indicated it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in ages.
The suite ceiling was a popcorn ceiling, which in itself is outdated and unappealing, but to make matters worse, it had water stains from previous leaks and peeling wallpaper. This is not just an eyesore but a sign of serious neglect. The room window curtain appeared to have a blood stain on it, which was deeply unsettling and completely unacceptable. The suite vents were coated in dust and dirt, clearly neglected for months, if not longer. The floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in ages and was sticky, which was absolutely revolting. We were thankful we brought house shoes, as walking barefoot was out of the question.
The bed sheets were another major concern. I hope they were changed prior to our arrival, but they certainly didn't feel clean. The whole room felt dirty and grimy, making it impossible for us to relax, let alone sleep. My husband and I didn't get a wink of sleep and spent the night feeling uncomfortable and on edge.
We didn't even eat the complimentary breakfast that we had initially looked forward to; we were so ready to leave. The thought of consuming food from a place that couldn't maintain basic cleanliness standards was too much to bear. This hotel is in dire need of a major renovation. In fact, it should just be demolished and rebuilt. The condition of this hotel is a disgrace to the Embassy Suites name and the Hilton brand.
This is not the Embassy Suites we've come to know, trust and love. We'll NEVER stay at this particular hotel again, and we will be sure to warn our friends to steer clear. Our anniversary was ruined by this hotel stay experience, and I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. Save your money and go somewhere that values cleanliness and...
Read moreWe stayed at this Embassy Suites from 4/3/24 - 4/7/24. The unit had two full beds and a pull out couch in the living room. I have always enjoyed my stay at Embassy Suites. We had a bad experience at this specific hotel. My two daughters were to sleep in one of the full bed and my wife and I to sleep in the 2nd full bed. Please look at the stain on the comforter. Imagine what would create that stain. My girls simply slept on the pull out bed. On the 3rd day, my youngest work up with bed bugs bites from sleeping on the pull out bed. We notified the front desk. They instructed us that they will have their staff and an outside lab (Eco Lab) investigate the unit and they would contact us when Eco Lab information them if a time frame. I felt comfort knowing they were following proper protocol regarding bed bugs. They couldn't give us a timeline when Eco Lab would be present. When we returned 1.5 hours later, the lady at the front desk shut the office door, spoke to her manager. She came out and said, our team and Eco Lab found nothing. You can go back to your room. We did move to another room. After we switched rooms, We noticed the cleaning crew spent a few hours deep cleaning our unit. We had text conversation with Cristal, Leon, and Lauren. They assured us Eco Lab spent 3 hours inspecting the unit (we returned 1.5 hours later). Since the time frame didn't make sense, I simply requested a copy of the report from Eco Lab. They are unable to provide that for me.
We hoped they followed proper protocol. They swept us under the rug and hope we would go away. This is not acceptable. It was a difficult night to sleep. The management team did a poor job handling this issue. I will report this to BBB and I will reach out to the state. You are violating OSHA regulations by not following protocol.
To embassy suites, please contact me. Please don't respond with a generic response you give all your customers on Google reviews
Update: 4/9/24 in a BBB response, Embassy Suites submitted the Eco Lab results. Unfortunately it was services today (4/9/24). Eco Lab investigation was never completed on the day of bed bugs discovery on 4/6/24. As stated above, their cleaning crew was cleaning our unit (618) for over two hours after we switched rooms. We are extremely disappointed and find this disturbing. This is not acceptable. Proper protocol was never followed for bed bugs. Please see the Eco Lab...
Read moreI usually read reviews rather than a person who comments. But this time I have to say something because I’ve never in my life experienced anything like it. I chose this location due to the close proximity of the venue I was looking forward to the usher show but it was cancel; so I decided to make the best of my trip but this place showed me to never come back to Atlanta again. After weeks of settling in, I finally had the time to settle down to make a remark about my time during Embassy suites at Centennial Park. I would like to start off how I was treated upon arrival the receptionist was nice. But when I arrived to my room it was not up to par for the price I paid for. I had to switch rooms due to the fact that the linen had stains and tears on the comforter, and the headboard appeared as if someone splashed drinks on it. So I called front desk and asked if they can send someone to change it. About 5 people were at my door, it took 5 people to change the linen in a matter of 30 minutes. I was a bit confused to what was happening because one of the ladies was laying in the bed on her phone and then two guys came in. I guess since I was asking questions one of the members of the crew verbally assaulted me in their language. In that moment I packed my bags in went downstairs. Till today I still can’t quite understand why it took over 5 people to come to my room. I wish someone can roll the cameras back. It was bad to the point whereby the manager tried his best to accommodate me by adding points to my account to settle the mishap. The new room was a tad bit better but I think the building and rooms are just outdated from what I’m use to seeing from other embassy locations. What puts the icing on the cake is Now that I am checking my balance statement on my credit card; I noticed that I was charged $55 for parking that my guest actually paid cash for on August 17th to one of the valet personnel who mentioned that the charge will be dropped since my guest paid cash. I called to inform billing of the charge and they’re telling me there’s no proof of the transaction which lead me to see that the valet personnel has now taken the cash and did not add it to my account. My overall experience was very traumatic and now I have to deal with theft from the properties valet personnel of a charge of 55 dollars. To be honest the entire stay deserves a...
