Bally's Beach Bar — Restaurant in Atlantic City

Just look at the 1 star reviews and you will have your answer! This place used to be good but has sunk to a new low because of the staff. The security acted like neo nazi youth. Smiling the whole time while they stopped us at the entrance bc we had 1 beach bag and 2 camping chairs which were in their cases. It's a beach bar people will be coming from the beach! What happened next was insane. Btw I said I walked from the trop .9m to get there but still no admittance unless I wanted to leave all my stuff on the beach which they said they were not responsible for. Nope. I went around onto the beach area and found a rusty table and chairs area and left my husband there with the stuff went in to order drinks came out and the security moved him back to the entrance stating that the area we chose to sit in was vip! I went back over there with my drinks as security was still hassling me! This was triggering and I began to ask them questions like if they were part of ICE and critizied their choice for president recounting all the crappy things he's doing with healthcare for the poor, saying that this is a free beach and people come here because they are poor cant afford to pay for badges! Then I moved further out onto the beach area and said first of all I purchased drinks. Second of all that area doesnt look like vip with rusty tables...and if i was a vip i would not want to sit there...I moved outside the area that was roped off with my husband and set up my camping chairs so that we could sit and drink the beverages that I had just purchased from this godforsaken place and FYI this is a public beach! I said do you have a problem with me sitting here? Silence. A few minutes later 3 staff came and removed all the chairs snd rusty tables from the area and said FYI if vips came to sit there that they would have a problem with me sitting on that part of the public beach! But that he did not want to argue with me... What? This is not over... I was on the phone with food and bev office to recount this incident. No one should be...

My husband and I bought two drinks at the bar on a Thursday Aug 2, 2018 in the afternoon. We went to sit down at a table and got told rudely that was for drinks purchased through a waitress only. We got up and sat in the sun at a very small bar height table right next to bar figuring that was for bar purchases. We then had another rude waitress tell us we couldn't sit there. I asked for a manager .I explained we spent $21 and can't sit at the hundred empty seats out if the sun. I have a severe sun allergy and we picked this bar due to all the seats with umbrellas. She apologized and let us sit at a table. The same waitress come over and took my cup and asked what else we wanted . We said nothing thanks. She mumbled under her breath and was starting to pick a fight with me. I explained how we talked to the manager. She rudly said she would see about that .The manager then came up to us and told us the waitress girl is upset and we needed to leave to another section of the bar. We said no amd we would rather leave then get harrassed. Did she not have any say over her staff? This was the worst experience and waste of money ever. If it was crowded I could understand. The whole place was empty except seating around the bar. We were new and didn't know how it worked. No reason for a young girl to talk back. I wish I did more. This girl ruined my day and experience there. They did nothing to make it right nor apologize for being so disrespectful.We will never return and let all off our friends and family know how aweful this place is by rude staff and a manager that couldn't help us. I usually don’t write reviews but felt the need to do so, to warn customers of my experience. This past Thursday a few friends and I visited the beach bar to have a few drinks. The bar area was nice, service was extremely slow (due to being under staffed) and the drink prices and specials advertised on the menu and signs (all over the bar area and entrance) did not reflect the amount charged. The menu noted that our drinks were $12.00 each and the special of the day was a $4.00 beer. This comes out to $28.00 (two 12 drinks and a beer) not the $33.00 that was charged to us. When we inquired about the extra charge of $5.00, the server brought the manager over. First he advised that menus were printed before covid and drink prices went up. Our response was why weren’t we notified before ordering and why do all of your signs say $4.00 beer on Thursday? Then he responded that it was an AC tax of some sort. If it was a tax, it should be reflected on the bill as a separate line item and it was not. (other bars in the area didn’t have such a tax-scammer) He gave us a song and dance, talked in circles, wouldn’t correct the bill and advised he would make it up when we “buy” our next drink. Lo and behold there was NO next drink. Customers BEWARE...you will not pay the prices reflected on the menu or signs. We will not be going back. I am only giving one star because that’s the lowest...
