This review articulates how one specific thing can snowball a bit... So, this facility advertised a pool. Interestingly enough, the sign out front also actively advertises a pool - I literally walked outside, looked up, and saw the word "pool" on their store-front sign. What we found was a pool with no water and nothing except a bunch of random nerf darts sitting in the bottom. I decided to call to share that as it came across as disingenuous that it actively mentioned a pool on the website posting + the sign directly out front of the facility and yet... it definitely wasn't usable. When I called I was met with a fast talker who didn't let me get much of a word in. Afterwards, I spoke to another individual, and it was much of the same.
It's not too difficult to mention other things as well. I mean, the wifi was more akin to dial up speeds from the late 90's than modern times, the room was small, the walls were thin and it was easy to hear what was going on all around, I tried to adjust the crooked TV but was concerned doing so was too risky as the hanging mount felt like it could give way at the slightest touch, etc. I can let those things ride - seriously, those kind of things are just "whatever, it's fine, not the end of the world." But what really didn't sit well with me was the lack of self-awareness of this facility that advertising a feature in multiple areas that wasn't actually present might... not be a good thing? And then their brazen shrug-off response when I brought it up - that was the icing on the cake and was downright baffling. If it's a seasonal feature, if there's a maintenance window for the feature in question, if some sort of amentity isn't available at a certain time, that's fine! But OWN it. The transparency and honesty up front would go a long (long) way, but having the "eh yeah too bad, anything else?" response is quite possibly the most efficient way to get folks to pass on being a potential patron, because that simply translates to analyzing the rest of the experience and deciding "yeah, no, this is worth sharing" - so here it is.
All that said, the facility is a relatively short walk to the boardwalk. So I suppose...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!! I would suggest you really read the reviews before hand if you are considering it. Why they have 3.9 stars is beyond me. When we arrived we immediately noticed the lobby had no air conditioning, which should have been he first hint as to what kind of place this was. Even just walking down the hallways to our room it smelled awful and just looked dingy and disgusting. Once we got into the room I was appalled. The room was absolutely gross! Big yellow and brown stains an all over the lamp shade which was barely hanging on to the lamp and stains on the sheets and all over the floors as well. The headboards, which were what I’m assuming some type of pleather material were peeling badly. The roomed smelled so awful like cigarettes and filth. The table and chairs were sticky, ripped and just super out dated. The bathroom was gross as well. Mattresses were absolutely disgusting. I always lift the sheets as soon as I get into a room to check for bed bugs and the mattresses were yellow and brown and had huge nasty stains all over. Nothing has been updated in like 25 years. I honestly wouldn’t even sit down anywhere in the room. We left within five minutes. They did refund our money thankfully. I would suggest not to hand your keys over to the staff after reading some reviews and others have stated things going missing from their rooms while they were out. Bed bugs and cockroaches were also mentioned as well. Wish I would have really read the reviews before booking. I’m so glad we didn’t stay there and were able to find an air BnB close by. There are a lot of drug addicts and homeless in the area. If I could give this place ZERO...
Read moreThis is the most disgusting Hotel my husband and I have ever been to. We stayed for 3 days and nights this past weekend (8/9-12). When we arrived our bathroom had not been cleaned. There was hair all over the floor and old dark yellow PEE all over the toilet. I mean the seat, the back, running down the side of the bowl, the inside and outside of the lid... I had to wipe down the seat before we could even get close to it. Of course we informed the front desk staff who assured us that someone would take care of it. Nothing. The second day my husband informs the staff once again that our bathroom had STILL not been cleaned. We noticed there is pee all over the toilet, hair all over the floor and a dirty footprint that had not been scrubbed from the tub. The man behind the desk looks at the valet guy and tells Him to clean our room. Once again the staff "assured" us that someone would get right on it. Later, yeah you guessed it, still no one cleans our bathroom. Now I go down myself to speak with the staff who cuts me off, shuffles through some papers and repeatedly tells me someone will take care of it. Once again, nothing. I've never stayed in a place where I have to wash on top of someone else's filth or clean someone else's urine throughout my stay all while I've paid to be here. I will never ever ever stay here again. It's just disgusting. BTW, I bet that pee is...
