Went to see Tom Segura at Hard Rock and decided to stay at Resorts because it was cheaper. First time staying at this hotel and playing in their casino, I was not impressed. The room was so outdated and old with a weird smell but we decided to just ignore it and not complain because we were only staying one night and leaving in the morning. After leaving the Tom Segura show and heading back to the room - we noticed the door just swung right open. Without the key and just my friend leaning on it. Thats when I noticed the metal T strike plate of the door was completely bent in and very obvious that someone had broken into our room.
I called the front desk to inform them of this and they sent a maintenance worker up to change out the plate and that was it. I asked him was anybody coming to speak to us about what happened and he told me to speak to the desk. Okay. This guy is just doing his maintenance duties and thats fine, he doesn't know.
I go to the front desk to tell them that this room was clearly broken into and that now we're uncomfortable being in the room and she tells me theres no other rooms available to put us in. Ok - call security over then. Security comes and tells me it would "take hours" to go through the footage of the times I gave them that someone had to have gotten into the room and that I should GO BACK TO THE ROOM AND WAIT FOR A CALL. Yes - the same room that someone just broke into, now they want me to go back and relax in it. (but if I was accused of stealing money from the casino, I'm sure they'd find that footage real quick)
After pretty much making a scene over it, then all of a sudden there was a new room available for us on the updated side of the hotel. How convenient. I was told I would be contacted with an update and haven't heard a single thing from them. No phone call. No email. Nothing.
The next morning, we went to the front desk to get an update on what was going to be done about the situation. I was hoping for more information on whether they saw it happen, if it happened to anyone else on the floor, the person was caught, etc. But instead was told they took 80 dollars off of our room and then was handed a card to "follow up" and then asked if we wanted to see the supervisor. We said yes but were waiting so long, we decided to just leave and head home because they clearly didn't care about our situation and we were over it.
At the end of the day, the situation could have been worse. I'm glad it didn't happen while we were in the room and sleeping. There are a million different ways this could have played out and this hotel clearly showed they do not care about their patrons "safety" even though they have a million signs posted up saying that that is their #1 promise to their patrons - their safety in their establishment. Quick to take extra money for a deposit to hold in case you mess something up but can't be held accountable for their mess up.
After all is said and done, I won't be returning. It's poorly ran, needs a makeover and security is a joke. Should have just called the cops instead of their security. I'll pay the extra money for another...
Read moreStayed here with several friends for the 2024 opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament. ||As for the positives, the check in process was efficient and I was able to check in my room early. The room was clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff were on point. The room was nothing fancy but it served its purpose. The ice maker on the floor made decent ice for in-room cocktails. The cocktail waitress for the table game players were on point. The drinks were good and they were timely. ||As for the negatives, the casino is dated and run-down. Bathrooms on the casino floor were dirty with street people often changing or hanging out inside. Often times, the casino smelled like a reggae festival from weed. Furthermore, this is the only casino I've ever been in that does not have a designated bar with numerous video poker machines built into the bar. The sportsbook, which is run by Draftkings, has a small bar inside with about 20 seats but only 6 or so have video poker machines. The casino floor outside of the sportsbook has two bars. One bar is near the boardwalk entrance. Yet, on a busy weekend, my group found it closed by 10 PM on Friday night. The other bar is a themed bar closer to the check-in area. The theme at the time I was present was a Mad Rabbit type setting for the Easter season. Frankly, it had a cool vibe. Unfortunately, the bartenders and service at the bar was awful. The two bartenders working on Friday night at 10:15 PM could have cared less about the people standing around with cash to spend. In fact, these bartenders spent more time with their backs to the patrons and heads down than actually serving drinks to the ready, willing and able to pay customers standing around for 10 minutes waiting to be served. If there is only one bar serving drinks at peak time in a casino, Resorts should staff it accordingly or at least staff it with people wiling to hustle. Patrons will tip accordingly. ||The craps dealers had a very difficult time keeping up with the pace. Although each table would usually have at least one, well-trained dealer, the other two appeared wet behind the ears with payouts that prolonged what often is an all ready slow casino game. Also, and worth mentioning, on one particular afternoon, one craps table had a player asleep at it but the pit boss would not remove him to allow a paying customer in his place because he was "a regular." Very odd. ||Lastly, as a non-smoker, I found Resorts to be the smokiest casino on the boardwalk. I can handle smoke but this place was awful. The entire floor caters to smoking. Unlike other casinos that either have designated smoking areas or amazing smoke eaters, this place had neither. ||In summary, Resorts needs a makeover, tighter security, better overall staff at the bars and floor games and smoke eaters or a designated space for smoking. To be fair, the price point was legit. But, a casino doesn't have to have Aria prices to be nice. ...
Read moreI stayed at Resorts with my husband for Valentine's week. We checked in tues 2/13/2024 and as soon as we walked in the room we noticed a towel left in front of the tv. We don't know where this towel came from but it was there. The bathroom vents were EXTREMELY dirty, the shower walls had hair on it and all the water bottle's seals were already open (we were in room 841 by the way). The room was kind of dated but doable. On 2/15/2024 we went to the spa to get a massage. My husband's appointment was at 12pm and mine was at 1. As soon as the massage therapist came and got me she made a comment about my blonde hair (I'm Africa American so that comment kinda caught me off guard)! When she started the massage the lotion was ice cold, she didn't ask if the pressure was good, any areas of pain or anything. I put on the form that I had a torn rotator cuff but from the way she was flinging my arm around I'm assuming she didn't read it. Half way through my very rough massage she started asking me about my skin (I have eczema, I had no flare ups or rashes she just noticed my 2 toned skin in some areas). About 30 mins of my 50 min massage was talking. Talking about politics, skin and mental health conditions, her friend who gives happy endings, how she lives by the "hood" and war! NONE OF THAT WAS RELAXING! I was there for a relaxing experience, not a conversation! My massage ends and now I'm not relaxed, shoulder isn't feeling the best from all the moving and flinging of my arm and I'm kind of annoyed. BUT, I'm not one who likes to cause issues so I just smiled and bared it. That was until I get back to our room and I'm talking to my husband who tells me that she made a comment about how dark his skin was!! Now during the majority of the time my butt was exposed. There was really no privacy, but I didn't say anything. I kind of let it go, BUT TO COMMENT ON MY HUSBANDS SKIN TONE IS PAST DISRESPECTFUL! It took everything in me not to go over there and make a scene! 1st my blonde hair and now his skin! That was absolutely unacceptable! Someone's skin tone shouldn't be a topic of conversation. I am absolutely disgusted and have 0 desire to ever return. My whole experience was rough, talked through, uncomfortable and a completely waste of money! I spent about $300 with tip for the worse massage experience ever and I'm someone who frequently gets massages! Oh, and she went from ice cold lotion to scolding hot stones or whatever she was using. Again, no warning no nothing!! What a water of money and time. I wanted to give my husband a extra treat for vday day, instead I wasted my money and we were both unsafe and...
