Salem's Fresh Eats — Restaurant in Auburndale

After a certain time the dinning room closes due to short staffing and even though you have ordered on line and already have paid... you will still have to wait in the drive thru line for your food because employees do not answer the phones either upon your arrival. This has happened more then once. Although it is good... the food here is over priced...the reason for only two stars out of five stars.

I have not visited Auburndale Salems location not since last review in March 2022. And on September 5, 2022 at 8:00pm Labor Day I once again ordered and paid on line. I ordered a Gyro with fries at least 10 minutes before clocking out to drive to Salem. I set my alarm for 25 minutes to clock back in from night shift lunch. On my arrival I still had to wait for my food. Once I arrived back to work while existing my car my timer was going off. I ate my Gyro and fries as soon as I arrived to work. The fries were Very cold. Gyro meat and pita bread were never heated up. Gyro was very very cold. This has also happened to me in the past but it was closer to closing time when the kitchen is trying to clean up before leaving home. This time it was between 8:00pm and 8:30pm. And as I was leaving the restaurant, a kitchen cook came up to the front to let another employee know that the fryer had shut off and employee was asking to turn fryer back on. That explains the French fries cooked so far in advance. Salems is about 3 minutes from my job and opened late but either they make me late on my return to work or food is cold. After six years at my job and only visiting about 10 times in those years, it will probably be long over an entire year until my next visit. Don't waist...

Our first visit to a Salem's shop possibly our last. The service was terrible, their we're three young gentleman standing at the order taking up the whole counter,not ordering but talking to the female taking orders, after about 4 to 5 min. she finally saw use and took our order,I was expecting a hamburger on a gyro, pictured, my mistake ????, my wife ordered mild ,we're a little spicy for us our mistake.But having look at ass's of these young gentleman standing at the counter not letting people step up to put there orders in, one of them putting his hands down the front of his shorts,at one point one of the young gentleman was wearing the head set for drive thru and talking to the kitchen,he also thru something at her in the kitchen and hit her in the face,they laughed about it, everyone seemed to know each other. I got the impression that the three young gentleman were sweet on the person taking orders. It was so bad waiting to get waited on that there was a young lady standing in line to order that looked like she was in a hurry (fast food restaurant) I went and told her if she wanted to order to step up to the counter because the three guys were just standing there not ordering,she thanked me and stepped up, finally got her order s salad with no peppers or onions,guess what her salad was loaded with ????,.The manager ??? came out when the young lady was half wat thru her meal and tried to make it right but the girl said it was ok,I don't think she will be back as it was also her first time she had visited a Salem's. Came in today around 7pm or 730pm and had ate in with my husband and his friends. ladies in the blue shirts were amazing!!! I cant speak for the manager... she was rude and even came to my table to talk unkindly about the girls working when it looked like they were working harder than she was. I dont really appreciate my meal being interrupted and i wasnt going to leave a review but ive worked for bad management before and the way that lady speaks to and about the employees is insane. Me and my husband asked the woman in black while ordering if she could add grilled onions and no old bay on my fish sandwiches i also ordered two fries and a large drink and she threw her hands in the air and turned to the girl in the blue shirt with the lipstick and bun and said "take their order they are asking for too much" but she had an attitude. The girl was already in the middle of bagging and she explained to the lady all she had to do was type it in and the woman told her she should be a manager since she knows everything in a sarcastic way. The girl in blue apologized and took my order and was very sweet. Those girls in blue deserve an apology or a better manager.With managers who act like that who knows how the food is being dealt with. And please next time, dont come to our table while we are eating so you can complain about your coworkers thats...
