I was so excited to try it and was highly disappointed.. it’s seems like a vibe down there and looks very nice inside.. however the food was terrible .. the fried ribs were spicy saucy and delicious but the regular barbecue had no seasoning salt whatsoever broken was tender though ribs were dry pulled pork (chunks) tasted like water .. it looked seasoned but they on sprinkle paprika on it the bbq sauces were no better… the collard greens taste like straight vinegar nothing else and the mac and cheese tasted like nothing but greasy in salty elbow noodles with heavy garlic powder and little to no cheese… which you didn’t even taste the little cheese it had smh… also I paid and cash and when getting my change back she only gave me dollar bills.. I looked at the register and said what about my change (coins) she said their policy was they don’t give change (coins) back.. I said but yall take coins.. yall should charge just flat dollar amounts then smh..I tried it the ppl were nice but I will never eat there again.. they really need to try again and I hope they take this criticism in a good way because I am being totally honest the food is nasty… * in response to the manager Rachel ma’am you never rounded my little 11 cents up to a whole dollar they gave me exactly 42 bucks back.. and you’re response as a professional manager should have been very different .. NOW I’m going to tell everybody about the terrible food and your rudeness cause it was very unprofessional

My son had recently discovered this local gem and wanted to have his retirement dinner here. He called and the staff reserved an area for large groups. This is a new BBQ establishment that has plenty of local and kraft beers on tap. We waited at the bar for most of the group to arrive and met one of the best bar tenders that you can find. Ryan the bartender is the backbone that supports the entire front of the house. We had a group of 25. The staff that works here, all display outstanding teamwork. The food was great. Several of our party had the nachos appetizer as an antre. The portions are good sized and the back of the house makes great homemade souther style dishes. The salad with your choice of meats is outstanding with the brisket. They offer several salad dressings. If you want to experience something stupid good, mix the sweet heat BBQ sauce with the Vinegar BBQ sauce and use it on your salad. The ribs were fall of the bone with a great smoke flavor. I recommend anyone wanting to boast about Augusta, bring your family or group here. There is issues with parking, so arrive at 5 and you will find plenty of parking, and happy hour until 6

My husband and I have been searching for a place like this for years and we finally found it! Amazing food, perfect atmosphere, and an even better staff. We sat at the bar, where I ordered the smoked sausage queso dip and my husband had the pulled pork pimento cheese patty melt. Everything was divine. (The Big Dill is a must if you’re a fellow pickle lover). The flavors were incredible, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty (which is rare), and every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The meat truly melts in your mouth. Our bartender Ryan was phenomenal. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the menu. We even chatted about the future of this end of Broad Street, and I have to say we’re so excited and this end of downtown Augusta has needed a place like this to kick off its revitalization. I couldn’t recommend this place more. We’ll absolutely be coming back and bringing friends and family along. Huge congratulations to the owner, you nailed it. I wish I could give more than five stars, because this place deserves every one of them. Knock out job. Please support this business!!!

The best part about my expetience was the atmosphere. It was clean, bright, spacious, and casual. The bar was adequate and no one seemed crammed together. There are multiple seating options which make the place feel open, yet intimate for larger groups (again, not crowded and not sparse).

Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately with a welcoming demeanor. It was much appreciated. We were seated near the patio at a table to accommodate four, but we liked it. We had good, expedient service the entire meal.

I ordered a glass of wine, the Murray Shiraz. It was fine. My glass could have been cleaner. It wasn't dirty, just cloudy. If you're serving wine, clean the glass properly. I don't car if you use a paper towel, just ensure it's clean. The liquor selection was good. You can satisfy most pallets and explore a few new options if you're adventurous.

As for my meal, I ordered wings and green beans while my husband ordered brisket, cole slaw, and greens. The food was not great. I'm sorry, but it wasn't. First, the wings were not (temperature) hot and had no flavor at all. I assume the food was most likely smoked earlier in the day, but when you're getting bbq, you expect the temp to be higher than warm. Flavor wise, nothing. I'm sorry, but I've had better wings at an Irish Pub in Summerville. The green beans were full of bacon, but again, no real flavor. The green beans just had spice. The pickles and pickled onions..... great! The ranch for my wings.... great! But that's it.

My husband is a bbq lover and would leave me for a woman that could cook a good brisket. I'm in no danger of losing him after he had brisket at 5th and Fire. The brisket was almost mushy and the portion could not have been more than 1/4 lb. I'm not a beef expert and even I was not impressed. Again, no real flavor. The slaw consisted of cabbage and mayonaise. No seasoning and no vinegar. The greens were decent, but at best, they were the equivalent of canned greens to be honest. If you're going to order brisket, order by the pound or you'll leave hungry. Ordering the 1 meat and two sides plate is not good if you want a hearty portion.

A few tips: When you order one meat and 2 sides, verify your two sides. If you order a meat that needs a knife, you'll need to ask for one. If you are looking for good atmosphere, sit at the bar and enjoy. This is not a bad place, but if you're looking for Rudy's, Noble Smoke, Midwood, or any flavorful house smoked bbq; don't compare this place. My suggestion is to try a few things on the menu before you give a 1 star review. They're better than 1 star. I'll try this place again because I want them to succeed. I don't know the owners, but I know that business owners value honest feedback.

Wishing your establishment...

Hubby found a new BBQ joint for us!! We were told they opened in Dec 2024 & we had no idea they were in downtown Augusta. Nonetheless, here’s my experience. The restaurant has a high end “Texas” vibe. Wish they had a good ribeye on the menu.. lol. It’s very spacious and clean. The service is great. We ordered the fried pickles and they have a very light batter and are fried to perfection. My only issue is that they are EXTREMELY salty and the sauce that comes with it is very salty as well. I ordered the brisket with the smoked baked beans and the Carolina coleslaw. The brisket was fork tender but lacked seasoning. I had to dip it in the sweet heat bbq sauce to get flavor. I was expecting the salt and cracked black pepper rim and it was not there. The beans were 6/10 & the coleslaw was a 4/10. It’s all mayo( no vinegar) and had no salt. Not flavorful at all. I like mayo and vinegar in my coleslaw, so it’s a no for me on future visits. I’ll admit I am a tad bit biased & have mad love for Jim & Nicks coleslaw and Houston’s coleslaw. Hubby ordered the burnt ends salad and enjoyed every bite! I ate a piece of the burnt ends and did not like the flavor. Something was off with the sauce. Sigh. Overall, we enjoyed the vibe and will return to try the other items. Having moved from the ATL area, we are so happy to have another nice restaurant...
