TL;DR: after trying 3 rooms in one night we learned that non-smoking only means tobacco apparently marijuana is fine, food was very disappointing, some staff needs should be addressed, and upgrades and maintenance are needed.

We arrived around 6pm and were greeted outside by attendants who were eager to help us carry our luggage and valet our vehicle. Front desk staff were warm and inviting. All seemed well. My daughters got busy ordering room service while I inspected the room. I realized that we were in a conjoined suite and expressed my concerns as a woman, traveling alone with her young daughters. We were told to enjoy our room service in our current room and that an attendant would be up shortly to move us to another suite. Room service arrived and the gentleman who delivered the food was kind and helpful, however, the food itself was beyond disappointing. Calamari and fried garlic cheese bites were undercooked. Oddly, the cheese was very waxy and even squeeked against my teeth as I chewed it. The cheeseburger had the thinnest transparent piece of cheese and the burger itself was a perfect replica of a hockey puck. It was so badly charred that the bun was covered in soot. The vanilla icecream was good, but the poundcake appeared to be a pre-packaged cake topped with canned diced peaches. Needless to say our plates were hardly touched. I didnt immediately return the food or call for concerns about it due to the room change that was taking place. Approximately 2 hours after contacting the front desk and still no one had been by so we called down to the front desk again, and were assured that the man answering the phone would bring the new keys up himself, and escort usto our room. However, an entirely different gentlemen arrived and began retrieving our luggage. He walked me and my two daughters (15 and 5) into the elevator where we were met with an actual cloud of marijuana smoke. I make no judgements about peoples personal choices but would prefer that my 5 year old not be subjected to all of those choices. I immediately walked her off of the elevator and the attendant stayed put. I had to say, "I'd like to get a different elevator so my daughters don't have to smell that." His response was that they (the hotel staff) were used to it. We arrived to the next floor and the entire hallway shared the same scent. The attendant quickly unloaded our luggage, collected his tip, and left. Upon inspection of this suite we found that the toilet was running, but also making a screaming sort of sound, the carpet between the beds had a large wet spot that one of my daughters unfortunately found with her bare feet, and the room overall had a musty, mildew sort of smell to it. Again, we called the front desk who assured us that they would have someone check the next room before we moved, again. About 20 minutes later a hotel engineer knocked on our door and explained that the next room looked great. He also agreed with the toilet complaints and the room's odor. My youngest daughter in an attempt to be friendly and make conversation asked this man what his phone number was and while I can agree that it wad an odd request I corrected her faux pas as he responded, "I'm way too old for you, sweetheart." At this point I'm exhausted and I've completely forgotten about the food. The room, as the engineer suggested was fine, but it was just that...fine. after so many misses for the evening we decided to sleep on top of the bed linens instead of within them. The next morning we went down for breakfast. The yogurt parfait and pancakes were good. The wait staff was very kind and helpful. The avocado toast and bacon were disappointing. The toast seemed to have been held up to a torch around the edges because the center was still cool and the avocado seemed to have been pre-packaged guacamole (yes with the normal flavors attributed to guacamole). I didn't even bother bringing this issue to anyone's attention as at this point I only wanted to leave. Checkout was easy and again, front desk staff were...

I only write a review for exceptionally good or bad situations. We arrived to the hotel at about 9pm with two women working front desk. Our room is on the 6th floor. We are quickly explained directions using a map on a sheet of paper of how to get to our room. If you looked at this map, aside from some colors, it looks like everything is on the first floor. Anyways, leaving the front desk you immediately notice, there are three elevators (one is broke), a ramp heading to another level, stairs that appear to head to another level. Our room is 6** so we take elevator to sixth floor and our room number is not on the floor. Looking at the map, the “pink” colored square we believe is the other half of this enormous hotel. When we finally get to the floor that leads to the other building, which by the way was the third floor that would have been at the top of the stairs in the lobby mentioned above. We walk all the way down those long corridor of conference rooms which was actually nice looking, though rooms did not correctly match names on map. We get to the end of the hall, turn left and snake through a skinny corridor to the motel side of the hotel. Anyways, we go up to our room, enter, smells like perfume, with open beverage on end table. We quickly exit the room and use phone in hall to notify them that we may have been put in someone else’s room. With no sense of urgency, the woman at front desk ask my wife to call her back as they figure out what has happened, she was repeatedly rude asking this question over and over again as my wife would continue to say we are at the hallway phone near elevator. Anyway, minutes go by, remember we are no where near entrance of hotel, so we wait. No phone call so finally I say I’m gonna go down and move our car because you only have 10 minutes to unload and when I go down, I will ask the front desk what is happening. When I go down and I ask the woman at the front desk what was happening if somebody was going to help my wife I was cut off mid sentence the woman replied “it’s been handled”and I again tried to ask so somebody is going up there to help her and again I was cut off with “it’s been taken care of” and again I said so somebody is going up there to ask her again before I could finish the sentence she again rudely said “it’s been taken care of.” I kid you not, she did not look at me or use any other words. Finally I just walked away. Parked the car, returned to my wife, who waited for me before we went down to the correct room on fourth floor. My wife made two request, frequently travels using Marriotts, that she not be near elevator and that she have a king size bed. Nope, right beside elevator, two queen beds one with sheets pulled up on a corner, and a broke toilet lid. Hospitality business for twenty years, including F&B director of a downtown hotel in North Carolina. I dont make this review to receive compensation, otherwise i would go and speak to the GM. This review is made so that you know what to expect under normal circumstances. I drove my wife from Florida to here for a contracted job. I told her i would pay for her to stay somewhere else. She said just let it go, it isn’t right at all, but just let it go. I fly back to Florida tomorrow, I pray that no resentment is directed towards my wife in any way. I highly recommend staying elsewhere. And for the woman working the front desk, well she may be in the wrong working environment with unreasonable expectations asked of her position. Ive added a photo of the map. Good luck making...

We were on a trip to pick up our son from camp in Cleveland Ga so we decided to stay at your hotel on the last night before pick up. It was over 4th of July weekend so the hotel was empty. We asked for a private room that was quiet and on a high floor. We explained that we wanted something romantic so the clerk offered to upgrade us to concierge level for an additional $30 only to be reminded by her co-worker that due to the holiday the concierge level was closed. So was the Starbucks and Quiznos on site. They gave us room 832. It had a beautiful view of the River walk with windows on both sides. Unfortunately the TV then ended up being on the side wall not across from the bed, but the view made up for it. Not 5 minutes later we heard voices from the adjacent room. Why if the hotel was empty would they put someone right next door???? The walls were paper thin! We decided to make some tea in the room but there was no tea bags. We decided to take a shower but there was no soap and some half used body wash. The room only had a small shower stall in it with no place to put shampoo or conditioner and no bench to shave your legs. The shower head was leaking and the shower had black mold all over it that I took pictures of.There was no vent fan in the bathroom . The toilet seat and tank cover didn't match the toilet. We decided to relax and go use the hot tub and pool but there was a family reunion staying on the other side of the property who had children in the hot tub our entire stay. We made three attempts to try and enjoy the "amenities". At 11:30 at night when we were sleeping we got woken up by load banging on our door saying "Security ,please open the door" When we did after asking to see some identification , he told us our neighbors complained that our TV was too loud. Really????? It was on #13 volume. The walls were too thin. Why didn't they just call our room instead of scaring us half to death??? Needless to say after a hour of me not being able to fall back asleep from my heart racing, I went downstairs to complain. They offered us to change rooms. At 12:30 midnight? They offered us free buffet breakfast, we already had that. They offered us something from the snack bar. I think they should have comped the room. They did end up calling a manager and gave us a $30 discount. I would rather pay full price and have an amazing experience instead of getting a discount and having a...
