Buona Caffe Artisan Roasted Coffee — Restaurant in Augusta

The coffee is decent here, but we had a very unfortunate experience.

We stopped by at 2:30pm on a Saturday. We had thought they were open until 5pm. The place was apparently closed (we had mixed up which coffee shop it was on Google and thought it stayed open until 5pm) but the door was open. I opened the door, poked my head in, and asked the lady if they were open. She was polite and said no but they could sell me a bag of beans if needed. I said no thank you -

Then out of nowhere the dog that stays in this building bolted toward me and out the door. My girlfriend was outside the building in the dirt parking lot with our new puppy just walking her around waiting for me. This dog of theirs in the building was unleashed and apparently uncontrollable because it got extremely aggressive, bolted out of the door by me before I could shut the door, and attacked our puppy. Luckily, it does not seem our puppy got bitten, but this is not acceptable as my girlfriend and our puppy were far outside of the building and way out in the parking lot - not even coming in.

If you’re going to have a dog in this place, please either be able to control it and not let it run outside of the building and attack other dogs or please keep it leashed.

My first time at buona, I had served their beans many times when I worked as a full time server at frog and the hen and tried their coffee at pride a year or two back as well. So you could say I knew what I was in for. I popped in right before the pride parade because I really wanted to support a business that supports pride! It was very welcoming, spacious, and accommodating. I asked for a suggestion and got a Carmel cold brew based off of that, absolutely delicious! Baristas are friendly and efficient as well. When I go back I’m getting a pastry, they looked yummy as well. Thank you for a great experience

Side note: If you are looking for it when driving, it’s a gravel pull off of Reynolds street, once you pull in you will see the space open up on your left with an outdoor seating area and the entrance is nestled...

When I walked in, I was immediately greeted and my tattoos were complimented so that’s always a plus. I asked the two baristas upfront to pick whatever their favorite beverage on the menu was for me because I was unsure on what to choose (I do this at any restaurant I’m new to).

They suggested the cold brew and I got the everything bagel. This coffee is poppin and the bagel is delish. I know it’s just breakfast food and a coffee but it tastes expensive….and I only paid $5 for everything.
