Nice place. Of the many photos other people have taken, I didn't see the point of view of someone handicapped (as I am) so I wanted to include these. Photos of where I sat (front row) to show the amount of space available for people to walk by. I walk with crutches so I wasn't sure where I could put them but they "fit" safely in front of me against the small curtain above the orchestra pit. There was plenty of room to walk in front of that front row. Pictures of the back area show what I presume to be the "handicap area." I'm not sure, but I guess that's where someone in a wheelchair might go. And the aisle down to the front is fairly steep! I'm not sure what the incline is but you gotta be careful on crutches. Very nice and comfortable theater. I confess I didn't hear every word of every song, maybe my hearing is going ๐Ÿ˜„

The theatre is a little small but comfortable. It went through renovations years ago. It is clean but needs some repairs to safety rails near the handicapped seating area. Just before entering the theatre there are two bar/snack areas. Each offer candy bars, wine and basic mixed drinks for sale. I've enjoyed the Wizard of Oz and Swan Lake Ballet. Check out the coming shows.

Definitely a cool part of Augusta history, I think the volume is a little high and distorts voices when actors are singing. Acoustics are a little off, with a little too much of the sound waves bouncing off walls/ceilings awkwardly. But given itโ€™s a theater that needs a couple layers of paint (kind of dated) the folks there really do great work putting on productions.

Was a good play, absolutely garbage theater, seats are so small, like I'm 140lbs and 5'1" but felt crushed and like my chair would collapse with every movement, no parking whatsoever, came in late because of the lack of parking and staff just wanted to talk instead of taking the tickets, seats were stolen despite being assigned seating, ended up behind tall people and had to crane my neck the entire play, not to mention they allow babies to a play, never been to a theater that permits it, it always says please have a sitter on the bottom of the tickets at these fancier events so you don't have to listen to babies cry the entire evening because sadly most parents aren't respectful enough to simply take the child out of the theater for just a few minutes, which is just common decency that gets taken for granted, again play was great it was everything else that would keep me from returning to this place and it's sad cause I love the historic vibes, just not a great environment as it undermined what could've been an amazing play and I'll never know cause it was constantly ruined by disrespectful behaviors, I'd like to add I love kids, but a play isn't the place for smaller children and it's just disrespectful to the cast and viewers to bring them and I'm sorry, but if that offends you, GET A BABY SITTER LIKE A NORMAL DECENT PERSON, unless its like Sesame Street, then it's weird if you don't have a kid, but the nutcracker isn't gonna be understood by...

We just enjoyed a show by the Augusta Players and it was outstanding. However, my low star review is towards very rude staff, in particular, one of the guys that was in charge of the spotlights. He was extremely rude to several people, including myself and my husband and a small child, for people walking too closely in front of the spot light, who had seats in the highest balcony area (we were at row N, seats 7 and 8). I understand he has a job to do, but he was extremely rude and loud, and if it's that serious of an issue, this theatre should not sell tickets in that area that close to the spot lights. He made a young girl cry, and at one point of the show, when a lady stood up from her seat, he shouted "thanks for covering up my light!" very loudly, in the middle of the show!!! Have friendlier staff who know how to speak to people in a more polite manner. He put a damper on the...
