If I could give no stars, I would. From the time my husband walked in to check the wait, we should've left. The hostess said there was a 30-minute wait for a five seater (two adults, preteen and two under six). The MOD told her to seat us after seven minutes.
We were seated at a dirty table, and I had to ask the hostess to clean it before we got settled. Our silverware was filthy. We asked for a replacement set with two cups of hot water and lemons from one of the male hosts that was walking around. He said okay, but we never got it. My family and I decided what we wanted to eat but were never greeted by our server. When we asked the hostess where our server was, she, without a care, said, "She hasn't gotten here yet, but she's coming."
At least 20 minutes have gone by. No one came to check on us or offer drinks while we waited. Nothing. There was a young lady who finally showed up to clean the table in front of us while my husband and I were talking about our mysterious server. It turned out that she was our server, and she never said a word. Not an "I apologize for the wait", or "I'll be right with you." It was as if she didn't see us sitting there, still waiting. We might as well have been invisible at this point. She was moving without a single care in the world. When my husband asked if she was our server to confirm, she didn't say anything. She just grabbed a bunch of dirty dishes and casually walked away.
I went to the bar to ask for a manager. The bartender was very nice and went to get her (short brown skinned lady). She never showed. My daughters at this point were distraught, arms folded, with their head on their hands. At this point, it's been 45 minutes.
I am a previous employee of Applebee's in Atlanta, who has worked every position except a cook, and even on our WORST night, we STILL provided better service. We decided to go to Chili's instead. Our server there who was familiar with this Applebee's told us that at her most recent visit to the same place (less than a week time), the staff told her "You might as well just leave, because we're going to give you bad service." I don't know how this place is still running. Out of at least five servers I saw in the building this Sunday, only TWO were actively engaged with their tables. Very disappointing. We'll never return to this location again. The entire experience was just awful, and I'll never forget the looks on my daughters faces.
If you want better service, stop by Chili's and ask for Caitlin. You can...
Read moreVery unpleasant and a waste of time experience. As part of a birthday celebration we decided we wanted steak. Rather than travel to the other side of town we chose our nearby Applebee's. Big mistake! The hostess communicated as little as possible and she was not welcoming. The waitress seem to be trying at first but not for long. There were three of us. I had ordered the Leprechaun cocktail and it was missing the sugar around the rim. I mentioned this to the waitress. She made an excuse that the bar was probably out of the sugar. It seems to me that this should have been mentioned to me before the beverage was brought to my table. I would have simply ordered something else. A moment later I noticed a table nearby had ordered the very same drink but their drink wasn't missing the sugared rim. The waitress made another excuse for the bar. Two of us had ordered salads. I had to ask for utensils so we could eat those salads. We were given plastic folks and we were told that the plastic was just temporary. All three of us had ordered steaks and when they were served they were hot and smelled so good. Unfortunately one of us had absolutely no utensils and two of us only had plastic forks. In the meantime one of our neighboring tables was having an issue because they only had plastic forks. They found out that plastic forks tend to melt when used to eat a hot steak. The waitress was doing her best to avoid checking on us, so that we could ask about proper utensils. I ended up phoning the restaurant to speak to the manager. After being placed on hold for a while I just went up to the hostess and ask to speak to the manager. Finally the manager answered the phone. As I sat back down at the table the waitress showed up with utensils but unfortunately our steaks were cold at this point. The manager offered to fix that problem. I imagined they would probably just microwave our steaks. No thanks, I was entirely too upset with the whole situation. I did offer to pay for the appetizers and the two salads. The manager said not to worry about it. The thing is before the pandemic I used to enjoy going to this Applebee's. This was our first time back since March 2020. Sadly enough that they no longer offer baked potatoes and salads have to be ordered as an additional side, but to be treated with so little regard...
Read moreIt pains me to write such a negative review on this establishment because I have been a patron since we first got stationed here (Fort Gordon) in 2017. In the past I would have provided at least 4-5 stars for this establishment as it relates to quality of food, customer service, cleanliness, and being one of the most hospitable dine in establishments close to Fort Gordon. Unfortunately tonight I am being lenient with providing 1 star since the service was TERRIBLE. I placed an order online @ 510p.m. and selected a time(620p.m.) provided by the platform. I arrived at the location and within 5+ minutes I was greeted by a very pleasant employee requesting my name to retrieve my order, I showed her my phone with the order number and she negated to acknowledge it; this should have been my RED FLAG. As I waited I noticed the enormous amount of cars circling the Curbside to Go location, but I assumed we all had the same idea for dinner. About an hour later the same employee returns asking again for my name this time I politely insisted that she take the order number as well. Another 30 minutes go by I walked up to the door of the Curbside location that is now revolving with patrons that I have seen waiting patiently like myself. The employee provided me with the pen/pad asked me to write the number again. I waited 5-10 more minutes and proceeded inside the main restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. When I spoke to the Manager she advised me that the kitchen has been behind since 3p.m.; it was now 845-9p.m.. My question was "why did the online platform not specify this information so orders would cease" and her response to me was "she has no control over of that platform". She apologized immensely, and I accepted with understanding, but still feel this was inexcusable. As a patron the Manager or employees should have advised me and others that this was the issue not wait until asked. Each patron I spoke to that received their order after waiting had something missing/wrong. I was not excluded I was missing an item, but was unwilling to waste more of my time for it to be fulfilled.
I know this establishment is...
