1st, my sister is holding a 9mt old and ordered apple juice, when we ordered drinks, she brought the soda & water out first.... we had to remind her of the Apple juice.... asked for lemons had to remind her of that ended up getting that from the person who brought our food out... at one point I had to go up to the bar myself for a refill... they served a full rack of ribs with a butter knife and my fries came out like rocks. when I asked the manager for softer fries that was really hard for him to understand, he asked if I was saying I wanted them undercooked? I said just not as crispy I can't even bite them. he bright out more just as hard... so I asked the server, what about a baked potatoe. she said we may not have any but we have mashed potatoes... do u want that if we don't...I said no just come back & tell me... she came back about 5 minutes later, and said we don't so u want mashed potatoes? no ma'am, (im pretty sure I just told her I didn't want that) so next I asked for sweet potatoes. she said we dont have sweet potatoes. so when she walked back by 5 minutes later I asked if all the signature sides are just at a certain time? I showed her the sweet potatoes, she told me they are are call pralines..... ummm that's not what the menu says but ok fine... soooooo that finally came out about 15 minutes later, I'd finished my ribs 10 minutes b4 that. are that point I showed her the menu & said you do know it's not called pralines in the menu..... well that's what I know them as....I said well I don't work here why would I know you call them pralines? she said im not going too argue with you.....I said im just showing you what they are called in the menu.... she said I never said the entire 6 word description so she didn't know what I was asking for..... wow really? so we asked for the manager, he isn't the brightest either. so he agreed that bc I didn't say the entire 6 word description they don't have sweet potatoes.... so I let him know I was supposed to get 2 sides with my meal and I didn't get any with my food.... so he took off $3. we told the waitress in the beginning 2 checks, so of course he brought the adjusted bill all together as one. my sister told him what she had then he turned to me & said and what did you have? um mm 2 checks wouldn't I have had everything else.... but nope I guess he didn't listen to anything she said bc he brought the new checks back wrong..... then bc the receipt paper was coming to an end I asked him to re print it so I can get the survey code... he told me he would have to run my card again... when I said to get the survey code? he then said ok i can get the survey code 4 you...... after speaking with the manager the waitress never even came back to the table..... horrible...
Read moreI went to this restaurant recently and had a truly horrible experience. We went in to take advantage of the 2 for $25 deal and I must say it was NOT worth the hassle. Upon entry, I noticed the host hanging out looking at me and other patrons waiting to be sat, and continued to chat with other employees. Later, I watched this same host (named I believe Matthew) assist every patron to their seat while actively watching videos on his phone. He even found himself sitting at a table watching said videos and had to be reprimanded (very loudly) by another employee in order for him to actually assist people. When ordering our food, we asked how many riblets came on the plate versus the platter that was $3 more and we were told 3 and 5 respectively. We assumed this from previous encounters but wanted to confirm. When we received our food, we noticed that the plate came with 2 riblets and the platter came with 3. We immediately asked our waitress about it and she sent over her manager. The manager let us know that she was a manager at a different location before this one and the rule has always been based on ounces (10 oz/plate 16 oz/platter). We let her know that we were told differently and that even the photos in their menu show the plate with 3. She said she’d talk to the kitchen manager and see what they’d say. She did not come speak to us again for at least 15/20 minutes although she assisted at a table directly behind us. When she did come back she brought out 2 riblets and fries and said we’ll give you this and there’s no charge. So in the end we still didn’t get what was advertised or told to us before we ordered. I even looked at the receipt and on the receipt it states there’s 3/ plate and 5/platter. We spent the majority of our time there waiting to see if we would be given all of the food we ordered while being ignored deliberately by management. The atmosphere was very uncomfortable as we also heard complaints from other tables near us not receiving the correct amount of food based on what was advertised when they ordered (ex. Brownie with ice cream served without the ice cream). I did give this 2 stars as the food we did receive was actually quite good, but the rest of the experience was not. I will definitely not be returning to the location.
Please advertise factual information regarding serving sizes and make sure your staff (servers/waiters) know the information. This was easily avoidable and also could have easily been fixed. Instead we got dismissed and still ended up without the food we were told...
Read moreMy fiancé and I used to be regulars here. We absolutely loved one of the male bartenders, who apparently has moved out of town now.
Recently we came back because I was given a gift card to use. So we showed up to give this place another chance. When we were seated, we were not given silverware or napkins until we asked. We ordered our drinks, water and two things from the bar.
As a former bartender, I enjoy watching our drinks being made, but as I watched I noticed that the bartender hadn’t come back for close to 15 minutes. Finally when she did return, she took her time getting to people and the drinks that had stacked up in the well. Then she got to ours and proceeded to stack our drink in the glass she dumped ice in and let sit for 5 minutes while she served other people. Not bothering to shake or stir any ingredients. Our waitress didn’t come back to tell us our drinks were almost ready until they had already been made and sat there for another 5 minutes.
Needless to say they were both watered down and did not taste like the drink recipes we love to order from a typical Applebee’s. And to top it off, old smushed fruit was floating on top as a “garnish” of whatever the bartender dumped into the glass (definitely wasn’t the called for recipe of what I ordered).
When our waitress finally came to get our order we waited for our food for a good while and contemplated leaving and just paying for our watery drinks. Then the food arrived. On my last bite, I found a hair.
My fiancé’s riblets came out and were tough as nails and he couldn’t get the meat off the bone despite many attempts to. So naturally we waited for our waitress to come back and eventually she mosyed back over to us and we told her everything.
The manager came back and we explained the problem, but it seemed like he was having a rough night. We saw him visit at least 3 other tables and return back to apologize for something that went wrong. He comped our food, as he should have, and we left.
I’m not sure what happened here but this place has gone down hill fast. We will no longer be returning. Service is slow, the cooks ALWAYS mess up my orders or have something gross happen (I have received raw chicken several times from here and had to send the meal back), and the bartenders are lazy and would rather socialize with employees than work for their money.
Word to the wise, if they are “hiring”, find somewhere else to work, and if you’re dining out, think twice before choosing...
