This is my absolute favorite restaurant. We come up to Maine every summer and always look forward to going out to dinner here. The food is amazing, they have a very nice salad and bread bar as well as lobster. The service is also exceptional! This restaurant deserves over 5 stars. Update for June 2021: Sadly because of being short staffed they have temporarily decreased the menu options which is a shame. The menu is much smaller for the time being, and has much fewer gluten free options. Hopefully the old, larger menu will be brought back soon.

Whatever you do, don't go during off hours. We went at about 2pm on a Friday unfortunately. Service was really bad. I felt like we were just an annoyance to the wait staff. The silverware had water spots, and the bathroom smelled bad. The pastry chef (said that on his jacket) had to come out and tell the hostess to seat us. I had crab cakes. The plate looked pretty but the crab cakes themselves were too wet. It was more like a crab salad fritter. This place is better for dinner and special occasions.

The food wasn't too bad, calamari was a bit chewy but otherwise delicious. The steak was cooked wonderful but the asparagus was undercooked and still very crunchy, they offered to switch it out but I didn't like any of the other dishes they had. They say us in the very back of the restaurant where there was one other family with a very rambunctious child, kind of ruined date night. Otherwise not bad.

We decided to go to the pizza buffet for lunch today. It costs $18.00 pp. When we went a few years back it was a wonderful buffet. You had a large selection of different pizzas, salad bar was full of different items and there were also desserts out that you could get as well. There was usually a soup or 2 as well. Sadly when we went to today there was about 6 small pizzas for the buffet and a salad bar with only lettuce, coleslaw, potato salad and a pasta salad. There was a seafood chowder but it was very bland and thin. Mind you we ate around 11:45am when we got there there was maybe 2 slices some only 1 left to choose from. The salad bar had hardly any ceaser or tossed salad in the bowls . We hung out about 45 minutes the finally brought out 2 more pizzas mind you these are small pizzas with very thin crust. There was only 3 tables at this time and everyone was eyeing the buffet waiting for pizza to come out. When it did it was gone within a few minutes. The slices were very small and the pizzas were maybe 12" in size. They took such a long time getting pizzas out. I'm not sure why it's not like they had a lot of patrons. After the 45 minute mark we had to leave and just as we paid and were walking out he finally comes out with 3 new pizzas. We were sadly disappointed. So for $18pp you got maybe a 8" pizza worth of pizza and a small tossed salad with some coleslaw. It was very lack luster. I wish they would add a lot more options and keep up with the pizzas alot more frequently. Sadly the only thing that saved the lunch for me was that they serve Pepsi and the Pepsi was delicious 😋. Here's hoping they add more especially desserts to the buffet and keep up the food turning out. Our waitress was very nice and on top of...

The food is pretty good during the week- we specifically travel to this restaurant when passing through Maine for the smoked seafood platter. However...the host is typically rude (wait staff are usually very good). This last trip the host asked if we had a reservation and when I replied we did not he huffed and puffed and acting irritated asked another employee if they had tables. Then he proceeded to mutter to himself how busy they were and how he didn't see how we could get in without a reservation (btw the dining area was almost empty). We were seated and then informed that it was buffet only- the buffet was like a family potluck with old pasta salad and dried out foods. We wasted half an hour between the host and seating to find out the menu wasn't being served, there were no signs and no one bothered to inform us. So in a nutshell the food is decent but the service is deplorable ( with exception to wait and bar staff who are...

We chose to have breakfast at this location because it is attached the hotel and spa that we spent the night in. The ambience was ok until a large party, (that was expected) was seated in our area and was very loud and made it difficult for my fiancé and I to have our own conversation. When the server asked how our meals were, my fiancé explained that his biscuits were burnt and so dry that they soaked up all the gravy that came with them, and also that the bacon was so overcooked it crumbled when he moved it on his plate. When we received our bill there was slight adjustments made however, our breakfast was still $70 in large part because I ordered an Irish coffee that was $10 on its own with only Jameson in it. I requested a shot of baileys to make it a true Irish coffee and was charge me an additional $12! Overall, not a great experience, I won’t recommend to anyone and I...
