Maybe the staff was having an off day but their catchphrase is southern hospitality and it did not feel as such. I specifically went since I’m new to the area and was looking for a bottomless mimosa brunch spot to get out of the house. I was excited to go since it was rated highly and not far from me. Once we came in we were sat very quickly which was great and given a menu. When looking at the menu it appeared to be lunch/dinner menu and was 11am. I thought maybe they didn’t do brunch and was a little disappointed but looked over the menu anyways. I always look for drinks first since I know that’s what the server always asks for first but did not see any type of drinks on the menu, sodas, juices, wines, nothing. Shortly the server came over and asked for our drink order and let them know we did not get a drink menu. I also asked if they were doing brunch and said they were. She then went to get the menus for drinks and brunch. Thankfully I was able to order brunch and decided to go with the bellini flight instead since I prefer those over mimosas and a breakfast platter. The flight was okay but not as good as I remembered them to be. The platter was good but found it odd they didn’t ask how I wanted my eggs or what side so I thought they just went by the standard. I haven’t had sunny side up but decided to give it a try. It wasn’t my type of eggs but ate them anyways the bacon and potatoes were good though. The food came out a little cold but just decided to go with it. Overall not a bad place. The food was decent and they had good menu options but don’t think I’ll be revisiting.

Doc's Porchside has all the familiar favorites of a burger joint -- and then some. For me, it falls somewhere between Applebee's and Outback. There are burgers, tenders, salads, and seafood. There are big screens, little screens, and rows of chairs crammed up against a long bar. But then you take a deep dive into the menu and discover these incredible platters of brisket and inhalabe rows of fried green tomatoes served with pimento cheese and bacon jam. (Would the world be a better place if there were more bacon jam? Rhetorical question. We all know the answer.) Definitely not the spot to visit if you're looking for a light menu. You can certainly order a salad or get that Nashville hot chicken grilled instead of fried. But you're going to want to devour the house chips. And savor some rainbow slaw. And did I mention the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and bacon jam? (They're served so beautifully on a bed of greens, topped with pickled red onions, and flanked by mounds of cheese and jam. It's almost a shame to eat them. Almost.) So next time you want a taste of some elevated American classics, head on over to Doc's. Pro tip -- ask for extra napkins. You're gonna need 'em.

Well… I must admit I was so glad to see WildWing gone… Their arrogance and poor customer service won’t be missed… So I could not WAIT to try Doc’s But on arrival same issues! It’s like they copied the same format! Stood at the door nobody greets you or asks to help you. Went to the Bar! Everyone busy not one acknowledgement I even existed! STOOD UP at the bar! Still nothing! Now stood in the center of the room making direct eye contact with every server and employee… smiles but no acknowledgement… slowly move to the door looking back unmistakable I needed help… Nope Nobody…. Went outside spoke to some girls outside Said “how is this place?” They said good! Well how did you get anyone’s attention to get served? And told them my story… “They said yeah you have to get aggressive with them or they do tend to ignore you here… but one we got a server it was fine! REALLY? That’s fine? I left… They need Doctoring here as this is not a healthy attitude. I get more attention a McDonalds! Brian

Unfortunately this location appears to have gone downhill since our last visit.

First, we were seated quickly which was nice (though this is one of the few nice things I can say about this location). Our server was a younger gentleman that appeared to have issues hearing us and had a poor attention span and this appeared to be an ongoing theme for the remainder of the evening.

The drink orders took quite a bit of time to arrive, and later in the dinner a call to the front desk was needed (via phone) to get a cup of water to the table that had been requested 3-4 times over twenty minutes. Drinks from the bar were good from what I was told, though they seemed to be out of a good many things.

The appetizer order went well, but they arrived cold and took a lot longer than should have been necessary, would have to estimate thirty minutes from order to the delivery of the cold appetizers. The spicy shrimp was disappointing, as were the loaded bbq cheese fries. The sauce used on the shrimp was the same that was used on the wings and the blue cheese crumbles could have been good if the shrimp had maybe been in a different sauce and at the very least warm.

Another server at this time had to be waved down for napkins, silverware and plates as ours was MIA. Though about fifteen minutes before the appetizers arrived he did take our main food order. Though he refused our ignored the attempt to give him the menus (which are normally picked up).

The main meals started arriving about fifty minutes after being ordered. These too came out cold and the burgers looked like they had been sitting for a while so the buns had dissolved into a mushy mess. The chicken fingers were flavorless and cold and given back untouched (they were not removed from the ticket). The burger of it had been warm probably would have been OK.

The wings, which is one of thier main items were dry and the order for those was mixed up between the two that ordered them.

Now during this dinner time is again where water was requested several times without any avail. The call to the front desk and request for a manager was answered, though the manager was unavailable. So the shift supervisor came to bring the water with a little attitude as well for us bothering them up front with such a request (again we tried several times to get this service from our waiter who either could not hear us or ignored the requests).

This was an unfortunate visit as visiting here for lunch and earlier dinner services on weekdays had been pleasant. It seems that maybe the staff might feel that the customers are a bother for making so many requests like water or eating utensils when paying just under $300 for a meal... Maybe the next restaurant at this location may learn from thier...

We really wanted to like this place. Let me start by saying that the redneck eggrolls were awesome. However, everything else was not up to par. Service, drinks, food, and attention to detail. Let's start with service. Not going to mention names. It was just downright not good. We had to order the same bloody Mary 3 times. It got to the point I just got up and went and got it myself. The waiter/waitress kept getting the bloody mary mixed up with an additional order of egg rolls. We never ordered the second egg roll plate, but it was brought to the table twice. We were on 2 different tickets but when we asked for a check, we ended up with 3. Not even sure where to start talking about that. That could probably have fallen under attention to detail. Drinks is next. I'm in no way someone who knows everything about drinks, so this is merely my opinion. The bloddy Mary's are plain. There is no rim salt or cajun seasoning. It was just plain. I dont expect all the fancy additional things that would normally come on one, but something is better than nothing. Next is food. 7 people were dining in and only 3 of the 7 enjoyed the food. Not sure why. A few are picky but anyways. I have never seen white mac and cheese. Also had a weird flavor. The redneck eggrolls were amazing, had yo mention those again. My Carolina chicken sandwich was pretty dang good. My wife had the burnt end po' boy, I dont think she was impressed as she compared it to the ones I make. They dont taste as if they were smoked and they didnt have any sauce on them. So they were a little disappointing. The kids said the pulled pork was ok. The attention to detail could probably be chalked up to the waiter/waitress claiming to be new. So I wont go into much detail about...

Just want to say Thank You to all the helpful staff and especially the excellent waiter we had......I wish I was better with remembering names. Short story. After calling ahead to the Metro Diner and trying to get a table for 20-25 for a b day party group...not by hours, but called the day before and then 3 hrs before arriving...when we arrived at the Metro Diner, we was told we had to wait outside in the 42 degree weather with kids. After waiting another 30 mins for a split up tables.....I called Docs Porchside (which is definitely one of my favorite places to eat anyway). I asked about Doc's ability to seat 20-25 people, they said sure, for when? My response was probably not what was expected when I replied " For right now, if possible, we are standing outside in the cold @ The Metro Diner right now.....down the street". The hostess told me " Sure, come on over, we will go ahead and start pushing some tables together now". So, we left Metro and went straight to Doc's. We were seated in our own room with-in 5 mins of walking in the door. Amazed and Thankful! We had one waiter, who did an amazing job keeping up with us.....even though I watched him run from our room/table, back in, stop by 4 more tables along the way to the kitchen.....our food was correct as ordered, fabulous, served hot and we never felt neglected. Definitely a great experience and those that I brought with us, that had never eaten at Doc's, All said they would definitely be back again!! Thank you, for helping save a almost disaster of a b day party dinner and making it All possible!! I'd give em 10 stars if possible and hope the tip we all left showed our...
