The food and drinks are often good however the customer service is horrible. We’ve gone a few times as seafood lovers but after getting sick this last time and the manager saying “yeaaaa we’re not taking responsibility for that” “ after explaining we have come several times and only the 3 of 6 of us in the house began to have issues and we have the remaining food (good portion) we can bring back. The food was lukewarm which I’m assuming could have caused the issue. And truthfully it was HOW the response was said vs the outcome that really upset us.
Also the staff is often all bunched up talking and playing, one staff member clearly was having issues and was out yelling on the phone, nobody ever came to sing happy birthday to my son after asking 2 times. He was excited asking me if they sing and I told him idk luckily just to be silly and allow it to be a surprise. This ended up playing in our favor to not fully disappoint him. We will be going elsewhere from here on out. We understand that sometimes staff can be shaky when starting up but at this point it’s no longer an excuse. There was one lady that we did like. She brought us plates and things of that nature when seeing were didn’t have it. She didn’t speak much but she met needs that she seen needed. Sue looked busy so I’m going to assume she’s maybe a manger there or should be one
To update since it’s not allowing me to respond. We did ask the waiter who was helping us. But it’s be expected with poor customer service to take 0 ownership in the response to this review.
To start a correct way to respond to a customer in my situation. “I’m truly sorry that you and your family became ill after eating at our restaurant. We take pride in our food preparation and due to policies (if they exist) we are unable to prove refunds or remakes without a doctors note specifying where the food poising came from if that’s the cause of this. It also saddens me to hear the waiters have not been attentive and unprofessional while on the clock. We will be sure to work towards bettering our customers experience” not yeaaaaa we are not taking responsibility for THAT and telling me there was more people to ask when I checked at least 2 times for a simple birthday song. I apologize for the long post. Customer service is a huge deal to me and has been part of my job to endorse...
Read moreDropped by for lunch and waited at the hostess station for about 5 minutes for someone to notice us. We decided to sit out in the patio area since it was a nice day. A gentleman that I assume was the manger brought some menus, took our drink order for a beer and a water and said he would send out a server who appeared a few minutes later with the water but not the beer. I ordered the fried shrimp and a beer again and my wife the fried catfish basket. Our server delivered the food in a reasonable amount of time but then immediately disappeared. After she was out of sight we noticed there was no salt and pepper on the tables... would have been nice to have some... or a drink refill. The shrimp were large and tasty but with very "heavy" and hard breading. I prefer the lighter breading from the casual place a little further up the road for fried shrimp. The catfish breading seemed much lighter and my wife said it was pretty good. Our server eventually returned holding the check. No sign of her from the food delivery until the check delivery... then before she had turned to go back inside I started digging for my wallet so we could leave but she disappeared again, so I put my card on top of my check and we waited for her to return... and I noted the time. Eleven minutes later the "manager gentleman" brought something to the table next to ours and I saw him notice my card resting on the check and probably my frown. He didn't say anything, just went back inside and magically our missing server suddenly appeared. She apologized for the delay but said she had a large group she was attending to inside the restaurant. I found it interesting that less than two minutes after paying as we were finding the restrooms she was sitting at a table with two other servers all totally engrossed in...
Read moreMe and my family came in to celebrate a birthday. I think we had about 14 or 15 people. They were really busy but we still but as soon as we got to our table we was greeted by our waiter Rob. He was very polite and patient with us. We had 3 lil ones who were whining and hungry because of the wait. But he spoke to the kids and went and grabbed them some crayons and paper to keep them busy. We ordered drinks and appetizers before our food. I was a little worried things might not go so well because we were a large group and Rob was extremely busy. But everything came out correct and fast. He explained the menu to us because we were new and made it very easy for us. When our foodcane out he shook up our low country boils making sure the season was spread out good and then lined the plates with the bag and presented them in front of us ready to eat. We never went without refills or anything. He was there every time we needed him even though he had so many other guest. He walked fast and you could tell he was working hard for everyone. The food was very good and so were the drinking he suggested. Then when we were finished eating he bagged up all our food for us and got the table cleaned off for our cake and ice cream. Rob had other workers come and sing Happy Birthday to us! Your don't ever get good professional service like that anymore anywhere. Because the food and atmosphere were great and because the service was spectacular we will definitely be coming back to see Rob. Thank you all so much for making it a great birthday dinner...
