Poor Boy's Pub — Restaurant in Aurora Township

A little bar/grill in a strip mall that I would not have normally gone into, but went with friends who love the place. Surprisingly good! Clean, friendly staff, excellent service. They even made things off menu, eg grilled veggies in olive oil for the vegan in our group (and cleaned off an area of their grill to do it), and a brat burger for some of the others in the group. A definite add to our list of restaurants we like going forward. I had the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing which was delicious as well. Reasonably priced. Ample free parking. Those who ordered the wings got 7 very large wings. Burgers come with soup and another side. Only 4 stars for atmosphere because it is a bar/very casual place and small. They lost my business. A lot of the bar tenders are really cool, but one needs to work on her customer service. What did me in was the owner when you try to let him know was incredibly rude and condones her rude behavior and treated me even worse. I’m a paying customer and I tip really well when my service is pleasant. Usually is except when that one is working. But now I have no desire to go there. The owner ruined it for all of them. If I’m trying to tell you that one of your staff isn’t nice and gives attitude you are supposed to appreciate the feedback and ask her to work on it. Not make the customer feel unwelcome like I did something wrong bringing it to his attention. I’ll just keep my money or go somewhere else. They obviously don’t want my money and...

I've been to Poor Boys a few times in the past. Their wings are awesome (mild buffalo).

Other food I've tried is also really good. Better than average local bar fare.

Last week, I called to ask if 20 people from my gym, Charley Co. Boxing Club, could come to Poor Boys and watch a pro boxing bout. I believe I spoke to Mari (?) and George. They assured me they have the channel the fight would be on, and would have a table set up for us. The night of the fight, we were all running behind but Poor Boys was very understanding, said no worries, and come when we could get there. We received great service from our server, the food was great and came out quickly.
