Taco Madre — Restaurant in Aurora Township

Wow one of the most disappointing Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. The people were very kind and the place was very clean. The Horchata is very good. I ordered a burrito with extra meat and paid extra. My wife is from Mexico and ordered pork tacos that were so called authentic. We received 2 soaked tacos with pineapple chunks mixed with grease. I had a pineapple salad with maybe one ounce of meat soaked in pineapple juice. My daughters ordered a torta that was also soaked with pineapple with no meat. And my other daughters order was soaked with pineapple. We all were sick. My wife from Mexico says that you are supposed to cook the meat first and then add the pineapple so it does not mix with the grease and soak the tortillas. The burrito I had was so pathetic and small we had to go to McDonalds to order food so we could get full. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. Jalisco tacos on Lake St in Aurora kicks everyone's ass when it comes to real fresh food with amazing portions. Their food is fresh with barely any grease. Their burritos are literally 3 times the size of this pathetic taco bell sized burrito with no meat for twice the price with poor quality meat soaked in pineapple grease. Absolutely horrible. I wished I went to anywhere but here. I am drinking beer still trying to get that mushy nasty pineapple taste out of my mouth lol. How this place got more than 2 stars I have no idea. My sweet sweet husband ordered dinner for us and paid over the phone. My sister went and got it and when she came home and we realized we were missing 2 drinks (my sister didn’t know the order/what she was picking up) and chips and salsa. When my husband called to tell them the women at the front whose name is LIZ called my husband a liar and said we had the items which wasn’t the case at all. She was extremely unprofessional and sooo ride to my husband who is the sweetest human. When i called the next day to get a refund the manager on duty told us she can’t give money back and can only give a credit. Why would I want to come back to a place that hires rude and unprofessional people?! Currently waiting for an owner to call me and tell me they will make it right. I have a huge social media and will unfortunately have to let people know not to go here if I don’t hear from someone soon. What a shame.

Edit to managers response: Your manager must of misheard me because I never once asked for a full refund even though I should have because the food was trash. We never received the drinks OR the chips and salsa but for some reason the owner refuses to believe that we were missing the chips and salsa. When the owner called she also excused her employees behavior by saying everyone has a bad day…wow. Also I’m the only that has left a review my sister has not so don’t assume. I really love this Taco Madre! They have so huge selection for Mexican foods. Everything on their menu was freshly made, perfectly serve, creative, and so delicious. Their tacos are phenomenal, you will absolutely love every bite, and you will be going to order again. Taco Madre is very affordable and fantastic. All of their food on the menu has a fair price, all of it is worth to try, and just by looking to their food your mouth will absolutely waters. They make very delicious food, affordable, and much better than other food around the area. Their chips and salsa are also very good. They serve so fast, you can get your orders in just a few minutes, and all of them are working so quick. Also their cashiers are working so fast and you can actually checkout so easily. This place never disappoints. It is a small place full of quality and delicious food. They serve a large portion in such a reasonable price. Very convenient place. Their employees are also nice, friendly, and professional. They are very decent the way they talk and assist their customers. Outstanding service! Everyone was so nice!
