I wish I could give this place zero stars. My wife recently picked up takeout from China Chef (6th & Peoria) in Aurora, CO, for our family. While eating my second bite, I bit into not one, but TWO pieces of grout that were in my food. Yes, actual rock-like pieces of grout... The kind of porcelin grout that's often found between tiles in a kitchen. I could have easily broken my teeth, cut up my mouth, or worse, swallowed them and faced serious health issues.
We immediately took pictures of the food on the plate and the two pieces of grout. When my wife called the restaurant to inform them of this dangerous situation, they claimed they had no way to view the photos since they didn’t have an email address and insisted on showing them the pictures in person. When she showed up with the pieces of grout, the pictures, and the takeout containers (with the food still in them), the employees were not only incredibly rude and dismissive, but they accused her of lying and denied that the containers even came from their restaurant. When asked to speak to their manager, the lady behind the counter said they don't have a manager. What?! They then pointed to the "no refunds" policy on the receipt and refused to take any responsibility for what happened.
This is completely unacceptable. Not only is the quality of food extremely poor, but the lack of accountability and horrible customer service is beyond anything I've ever experienced. The fact that this restaurant is willing to deny clear evidence and refuse to take responsibility for endangering their customers' health is appalling.
I strongly discourage anyone from eating here — you're literally putting your health and safety at risk. This is not just about bad service or subpar food; this is a serious health hazard that could cause severe injury. I will be reporting this incident to the health department and highly recommend they shut this place down before someone gets seriously hurt.
Save yourself the risk and avoid this place...
Read moreSo last night we had a "mini" blizzard and like everyone else just wanted to get home safely and order some Chinese food! Called and kept getting a busy signal- but I was determined (this is the only place that delivers to my home) finally got through and despite how busy they were the lady that answered the phone was so patient with me and made me feel confident that I would get my food in about an hour- ok np I understand why- So an hour and half later still no food (my husband, 2 yr old daughter, mother and father in-law) are all starving- so I call she assured me my food was hot and fresh and on it's way. It arrived about 15 minutes later and IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!! The food was so flavorful and made us all full of happiness!! Thank you China Chef for everything- WE WILL BE BACK- RAIN OR SHINE! - ordered- sesame chicken-chicken teriyaki- Mongolian beef and the chicken chow mien- all combo meals PS- the crab cheese wantons were not the best but who cares we enjoyed every bite of...
Read moreI think the people giving this place a 5 star rating are either high or paid by the restaurant. The egg roll was soggy, rice tasted burnt, the sesame chicken was hard and over fried. The only thing that was okay was the fried dumplings. Plus you had to pay extra for soup, extra if you wanted egg roll instead of cream cheese wonton. WTH! I have eaten at plenty of places in the area and have gotten soup, fried rice, an entree and a egg roll for the same price I paid for rice, egg roll and entree. Here's what really took the cake for me. The filled the entree part with a ton of noodles and cabbage so you really don't get as much of the entree as you think. Plus .35 extra if you want more soy sauce. They only give you one of each sauce packet. Yeah no, oh hell no. The pics below are our leftovers. We had not eaten in 8 hours and my husband is a very big eater. We were just beyond disgusted. I will never eat there again. Do yourself a favor and find something...
