Lala's Bakery — Restaurant in Aurora

I ordered a spring fling cake for my brother's birthday and we go to pick it up. My mom and I are so excited to get the cake. When we received the cake we didn't bother opening up the box to make sure it was the right cake because we had thought the lady checked it for us. And when we opened box we noticed something was off. The cake they gave us was all yellow with only mango. We cut into it because we hoped there was still a chance it would be spring fling cake but it wasn't. We drove back to the bakery because my brother was super upset. When we got there we let the lady know that she gave us the wrong cake and I gave her the cake. At first, she seemed like she was sorry until she opened the cake box and said, "Why would you cute the cake?" Then she said, "Well, you can keep it now since you already cut it." She never apologized. Thankfully, they still had my brother cake and they gave us the correct cake. But what's worse is they gave us someone else's cake that they ended up having to remake. They are supposed to make sure the customers are satisfied and happy. The lady was rude and didnt care to think how inconvenient it was for us to buy a cake and take it to a party only to have been given the wrong cake and having to drive all the way back to the bakery to get the correct cake. I’ve found Lala’s Bakery not too long after The Market closed after a frantic search to quell my spring fling obsession. I’ve been here many times (maybe 15 to 20 times) to get the iconic spring fling and I’m sad to say I’m disappointed this time. We paid $86.00 dollars for the cake and the cake was much smaller than I normally get….like a whole layer smaller. It’s usually three layers and we only got two. The fruit tasted overripe with some tasting incredibly sour and tart which has never been the case before. The frosting was way too sweet this time and when I ate the frosting by itself it tasted like the frosting was left in an open container in the refrigerator and took on the taste of the rest of the fridge. The cake was not as beautiful as normal the frosting is usually more stiff and the cake is uniform and the sides are smooth. As you can see in the picture it’s like blown out on the sides. I ordered the Spring Fling, but it was quite dry and the flavor was disappointing compared to the original Spring Fling from The Market. It's stated that their baker is the same baker from The Market prior to its closure.

I do appreciate the very detailed instructions, but daunting at the same time, on their website but I wish they also include instructions on how to find the bakery or how to reach them. When I showed up to the address, it was so hard to find the bakery since there's no store front and no phone number listed so it was very confusing. There's a TEENY, tiny little sign in the back with their name on it but when I knocked, no one answered. There's no doorbell. I stood out there for about 30 minutes figuring out how to reach them and thought about giving up but then decided to bang on their door really loud until someone answered. I felt very unwelcomed as a customer.
