This little restaurant shares the same humongous building as HMART but sits mostly on the other side of the square building. It is clean, spacious and well lit.
To an avid Korean-drama fan, this Black Bean Ground Pork Noodle or better known as Jajangmyeon (자장면), is a MUST TRY! P&Y is touted to serve one of the best version of this dish.
Jajang 炸酱 literally means fried sauce. So the bowl of black thick sauce is fried with ground pork. So for first timers, expect Jajangmyeon (자장면) to be oily with very thick textured sauce. I was slightly hesitant because of how dark and sticky appearance but that's exactly how it's supposed to look and feel.
My friend and I ordered N3 and N8 respectively on the menu. N8 uses the more traditional ground pork while N3 uses the grilled pork slices. The sauce was the same. We tried both ways and both of us preferred, hands-down N3!! The slight caramelized pre-grilled pork slices with onions added a delicious flavor and distinct bite texture to N3. The ground pork in N8 was more incorporated to the sauce and thus more hidden in the slurpiness of the dish.
Each dish cost about $16 after tax, and the portion is huge! It comes with a full bowl of the piping hot jajang and a bowl of chewy, well cooked noodles with some julienned cucumbers. I asked for a smaller separate bowl to mix my own noodles and jajang together because I knew I couldn't finish the amount of food in one sitting, and I wanted to bring the leftover home without mixing the sauce with the noodles to keep the noodles al dente.
There are a few other well known Korean dishes served in this restaurant. See menu attached. I would love to try their...
Read moreWe love coming here after playing golf over at Kennedy. We have considered driving down from our home in Central City when not golfing because we get to craving this place so much. The food is made with passion. It tastes so authentic with deep layers of flavor through out every dish we’ve tried. We’ve had the hot and spicy chicken and the ground pork and bean paste and we’ve had the spicy garlic sauce and chicken. Before the meal is brought out they serve kimchi and a little onion and some sort of yellow colored thinly sliced vegetable with bean paste to dip it in. We aren’t completely familiar yet with all the flavor profiles but they have all been so very delicious. The owner and staff are respectful, warm and friendly. There is something special about this little restaurant. It keeps calling us...
