Don't bother coming here before 9am (they allegedly open at 8am) because they don't seem to want anyone in there. This place doesn't have it together like they used to; it's less welcoming, and the consistency of quality is diminishing. I have been turned away too many times with the few things I want to buy sitting right in front of me. The newer staff isn't as friendly.

I've been here dozens of times over the last several years, and it's been gradually slipping since 2020; they used to have a few tables where you could sit down and enjoy your pastry, and they used to be ready for walk-in customers when they unlocked the door in the mornings, but neither of those things are true anymore.

What kind of bakery isn't stocked when they unlock the doors in the morning? Many times I have been there between 8am and 9am to find several empty shelves, and it's not because of a morning rush; the items I want are available -- I can see them boxed for an incomplete (H-Mart) order on the (now cluttered) east side of the store -- but those items are not available for walk-in customers.

So if that order for H-Mart - literally next-door - is not fully ready, and Mr. Bakery is making more of everything to stock their own shelves and complete that large order, yet there are customers walking in for a few of those same things: why make the walk-ins wait? Why turn walk-in customers away? H-Mart is already waiting, it's not going anywhere ... and it's not even open before 9am!

There have been too many times this past year I have visited this place in the morning to walk out with literally nothing. Why unlock the door for walk-in customers if you can't serve them? You can't sell me just 6 pastries that are sitting RIGHT THERE?

Imagine walking into a donut shop, seeing donuts spread out all over the shop, but being told none of them are for purchase; only during the last year or so has this been my experience at Mr. Bakery; it feels like I'm being told "the section of the store with the empty shelves is for you."

Only once was I (very kindly) assured that I could take a few things from the incomplete H-Mart order, and it was one of the older ladies who had been there for years. The younger lady with glasses who is relatively new there actually snapped at me one time I went to look through those boxes, which are just laid-out open in the front of the shop, as if they were on display.

This morning I even asked to purchase specific items at the counter, and was curtly told "they're not ready yet." Not only were there literally boxes of these items behind me, but I could even see them freshly-baked on a rack directly behind her!

This place seems to be going from a labor-of-love, hidden gem, family bakery, to a factory for large orders. I still love almost everything they bake (I wish they'd stop putting the cheapest hot dog possible in the sausage rolls) but overall it feels a lot less welcoming.

Please bring back the tables and coffee, clear out the clutter, and if you're going to unlock the door and advertise your shop as open at 8am: stock the shelves first! If you don't want to serve walk-ins: keep the door locked, and advertise different hours; that will give you lots more room to stack raw ingredients and empty boxes in the front of the shop.

I get it, Mr. Bakery: you don't care about selling me a $30-$50 basket of baked goods because you've got a big corporate order. I'd rather spend money somewhere I...

Tbh, I wish I took a picture of my cream cheese danish before I finished. It was generous and delicious and yummy and cheap and what more can I say. Such a modest bakery sitting next to HMart. Walking in, it was dim with the bakery selection on the right and their storage on the left ??? Legit boxes stacked on top of each other in a pile. They played what sounded like old Korean love songs. I was super skeptical at first (I did not look at google reviews yet). It was extremely different from your typical Paris baguette store. Quite the opposite. Almost felt like the bakery was just scrapping by. However, everything was very neatly individually packaged, which was surprising. And everything looked very delicious even in the dim light. I picked my danish up and it was so good to be repeated a second time. Go and experience the modest gem...

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The lady here was so~ rude. She didn't even welcome us in or ask what we needed. After we grabbed a cake for my dad, she didn't ask if we wanted anything written on it or even offered us candles. We asked her why she didn't offer any of that, but no apologies or anything. She just sat there and smiled. Plus, she was busy talking to the customer that came in after us. Even as we were leaving, she didn't even say goodbye or have a nice day. What kind of service is that? I came here cause the other reviews were great, but I'm NEVER coming to this place. Don't go to this place unless you want to get...

How did I not know this place earlier. Their cream bun, custard bun, roll cake, almong muffin everything was on point. The best thing is they are so incredibly unbelievably soft and fresh. My partner is not a sweet tooth but he loved the buns here. The sweetness is just right never too sweet but still so yummy because of the freshness and flavor. Recently I’ve been to hmart and grabbed a cream bun just to taste and God! It was the best cream bun ever. Then while pulling the car I noticed that Mr. Bakery is just beside hmart. That’s how I discovered it and I’m so glad I did. Need to try their cakes next they look delish too.

I love this places so much! They have affordable and AMAZING sweet treats that satisfy me EVERY-TIME!! For right now I’m obsessed with the pineapple cream bread that’s only like 2.50 and the size of my hand but surely doesn't taste like it as it’s so fluffy and filled with this amazing cream that doesn't have that greasy or oily taste to it it’s so creamy and light!! I come here at least twice or three times a week, and also get the chocolate croissant, the almond bread, the roll cakes or the Italian pastry,, I feel like their so underrated but surely deserve a lot of love!!

Love the smell of fresh baked Korean buns and breads from this little store. I believe they are also the centralized bakery kitchen that delivers their goods to other nearby Asian bakeries and HMART for sale. We visited the store right before 9am on a chilly autumn morning and was instantly welcomed by the wafting warm smells of their baking. There is a wide selection of pastries, cakes and buns, mostly still warm to the touch! I bought about 7 items and my family enjoyed them at home. There is currently no sit down service.
