Woolley's Grill & Lounge — Restaurant in Aurora

Not sure if this was just an off night or what the problem was. My business partner and I stopped in to try the food for an early dinner and we were greatly disappointed.

While our server, who was the bartender, was well dressed with a touch too much perfume, their service was slow and inadequate.

They brought water and menus and we didn't get to order anything for almost 10 minutes. At this point we ordered an appetizer and a beer. Mind you there were maybe three other tables of two or three people. The server returned to give my partner a beer they had ordered after another 15 minutes. As they turned to walk away, I took the opportunity to let him know that we were ready to order dinner. We gave them our order and they walked off.

15 minutes later we get the appetizer which was cold. Don't advertise grilled pita & vegetables and then bring them out cold. The pita had no grill marks and the veggies, while grilled previously were as cold as the refrigerator they likely came out of three minutes before plating.

30 minutes later, our dinner arrived. We were hungry and ate pretty quickly. The Ribeye was over cooked, the grilled veggies that came with it were the very same we had received with the appetizer, but they were warmed, definitely not freshly cooked. The Blackened Salmon was overcooked and the asparagus was undercooked. The Pasta was delicious. The server was asked about the sauce that came with the ribeye and they told us it was A-1 steak sauce. It was definitely not. It looked like a jus or something like that, but was cold and runny. We went to the bar and had to interrupt the server to get actual A-1 and hot sauce.

It seems as though the likely reason was the food was cooked promptly and sat there, which doesn't make sense as it appeared the food came from the kitchen to the bar by delivery attendants much like room service would be. In total, our server came to our table four times in a span of an hour and 20 minutes. At some point after this another bartender began working. We flagged our server down to ask for the check and a togo box. My partner asked to please clear some of the plates. We didn't have any room and the concept of pre-bussing seems to be missing. The server came back 10 minutes later with the checks but no box. That was the last time they came to our table.

The newly arrived server brought us the credit card slips and we asked for a box for which they promptly brought us. We left immediately after. I stopped at the front desk to let them know how poor the service was and that I was disappointed.

We arrived shortly after 4:30pm and left just after 6pm.

I have been there quite often in the last 6 weeks due to my daughter being in a horrific car wreck that almost killed .they were excoptional. Also, I have a disabled child of 4 and a 1/2 years old. If you need an experience for a child like mine. 1st floor towards the inside the doors open and they can hear the water in the cool air from the water and the green tree. It's amazing with her sensory issues she loved it, I did have one issue we were placed in the room as I spoke about for the 3rd time on the bottom floor which was exceptional but we got into the. Room the refrigerator open to the wrong side was rocky. There was half of the toilet trees that were supposed to be there and no extra blankets or sheets in the armor. I waited for two hours And ended up going to the front desk and actually getting it at that point. We were offered to change rooms but my daughter had just gotten out of the hospital and I was not willing to make her move anymore after 6. Surgeries the next time I booked. I got? A. Free breakfast? Wonderful hotel. My flight was delayed and I had to stay in Denver for the night. Loved it and wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel. It feels like a luxury resort and not a cheap airport motel, they have a shuttle that will bring you back and forth. Bed was amazing and fresh, I slept like a queen. Bathroom feels luxurious and spotless. Seth, the young man at the reception was so kind. I arrived in the middle of the night without my main luggage and he kindly gave me a toothbrush set, comb, and bottled water. Lisa at the breakfast buffet was so sweet and helpful, greeting every guest with the brightest smile, and helping out families with children feel right at home. The food was fresh and delicious, and the breakfast area (see pics) is a green, lush area with a little indoors river, very peaceful, not at all like a cafeteria style breakfast room. In spite of my delayed flight nightmare, this hotel was really a gem and a great discovery, I would definitely stay there if I visit...
