As a Titanium member, I don't think I've had a worse experience at a Marriott property. It's clearly a management issue, as my (and other guest) concerns were met with resistance, and a general lack of concern.
The previous reviews about vehicle theft and vandalism are true. During my stay, at least three vehicles were broken into and two attempted thefts were interrupted by guests.
The first "security guard" was fired. Several guests caught him sleeping in his unmarked vehicle at night. A new, marked and uniform security guard was hired a few days later. That seemed to finally stop the overnight vandalism. But daylight vandalism and attempted car theft is still occurring.
During my stay, housekeeping entered my room when I had the do-not-disturb sign up. This is a blatant violation and disregard for my privacy and wishes as a guest. When I did ask for cleaning, the room was not vacuumed, and the second time, my sheets weren't even changed.
The hotel is always oversold, and even for elite members with room problems, they claim they cannot move you to another room. Example: another guest decided to smoke in their room, causing several surrounding rooms to reek of cigarette smoke. The hotel staff refused to kick this guest out, and merely offered a citrus spray to make my room smell better.
The rooms I was put in was in need of updating. It was not to a standard courtyard layout. The room was under-lit, always felt stuffy, and didn't have a couch or lounge chair (which is unusual for a courtyard). Not even a floor lamp. I heard from other guests that higher floors seemed to be remodeled, but even as a Titanium Elite member, I was refused a move (more than once) to a better room.
There are plenty of other options for this area. Check other reviews and you'll see that this hotel and the Fairfield next door are the only two with major issues.
The only upside I'll give this hotel was the location. Walking distance to several restaurants and stores. Close to the airport. They did have an...
Read moreWe stayed here one night before our trip to the mountains / skiing. We booked two rooms with two people in each room. The desk clerk had difficulty making eye contact with me. Not because she was shy but she didn't want to look at me. She offered us extra points for checking in or food / beverage credit. I chose points. We are titanium elite level (almost ambassador.). We went to our rooms and I called her and asked what time bistro closes in the morning. She said 10am so I changed my mind about points and switched to food / beverage credit. She said I was only allowed two $10 credits. I've always received enough to cover each person in our party. She firmly told me no that's not allowed for Courtyard. She was very rude and spoke down to me in a condescending way. I'm Mexican, she's white, you do the math. The next day the maid shows up at our door @8:30am. We had pre-requested a late checkout. Late checkout for titanium is 4pm. She said it was not documented. I decide to go to the bistro at 9:45 and they were closed. No apologies but they were closed. The girl at front desk was also rude, would not make eye contact and told me they would also not be reopening later. Ok so we go eat at UNO's. We come back and our keys do not work. My husband goes and tells her we requested late checkout and she said the 4pm rule does not apply to Courtyard's. At this point we are very disappointed. We lost our check in points. We lost our food credits and we got treated like 2nd class citizens. This hotel has a racist problem and a customer service problem. All employees should be retrained to learn to treat all people equally. This stay was completed on...
Read moreThis location is conveniently located near the interstate. It’s a well maintained hotel, nice front lobby area with plenty of small areas of different seating for close intimate conversations. Next to that is the bar/bistro so you can order drinks/food and sit either in the bar area or in the comfortable small seating areas.
The bar/bistro has bar seating and other chair seating in the forms of small tables and chairs, an oblong curved table with chairs, even a couple of small round tables with classier chairs.
The bartender is quiet but attentive. If your bilingual in English and Spanish, he would enjoy a chit chat! His names Julio but retires in 3 months, good for him!
The front lobby attendees were friendly, although the overnight/early morning attendee, appeared disheveled, uninterested, and even bothered when after standing and waiting, had to go and summon him even though he was aware that myself and others were waiting. He was also dressed in regular clothing, not looking at all like a hotel representative.
The rooms were clean and service came around enough times for me, it’s not daily, but that was still ok for me.
The shower: this gets its own paragraph lol I’ll tell you why. I turned it on, ready to get in, and the handheld shot cold water straight out at me. It surprised me, and I fumbled until I shut it off. So with that being said, prior to turning on the shower, make sure the handheld is facing AWAY from you because it will always turn on first. After you turn it on, press the silver button and the shower head will turn on.
My stay went just fine. I would 💯...
