Yum Yum Cake & Pastries — Restaurant in Aurora

Everytime my wife and I have visited here, everything has been fresh. Usually you can tell if something has been put in the fridge/freezer and then left to thaw out because it becomes really dry. However, every pastry that we have eaten from here, whether it's the macarons or the custard filled bread, has been soft, fluffy, and moist. This has become our new favorite pastry place also because nothing has been overly sweet. We like this place so much we had a custom cake made to look like one my wife really loved on Instagram. When we requested the custom cake the baker notified us from the beginning that she doesn't have the ingredients to make a mirror glaze cake and that she would try to match everything the best she could, but couldn't guarantee it would look exactly the same. We told her to do her best and have fun with it because we had seen her past cakes and they looked amazing to us. The cake was finished on the agreed day and time and came out stunningly. It was a terrible experience of ordering cake at here this time. The cream was too sweet and was creamy at all. The horrible thing is the base cake was a fail works, however the baker man still use it to make my cake which was unethical. This is a birthday cake I ordered. But in the party, I felt so shame in the front of guest. I used to be a regular customer of the pastries shop. I brought a lot of bread and cake there two years old. And it was delicious,and Yumi. I don’t know they change the baker or just want to make profit. I don’t mind to pay more for a delicious food, but now I am paying for a trash. If they don’t have time to make a new one can let me know I am ok to take something else rather then get a trash to serve my guest in my son’s birthday party which piss me off. This was my first time ordering cake here. It was for my daughter's b'day. We ordered 2 half sheets DURIAN cake. It was very good! The cake was soft. It wasn't dry like other cake from other bakery. We had to bring the durian ourself coz yum yum can't provide it, but the owner/baker was kind enough to give us discounts for that. Yes, one of the lady in the front was not too friendly, but hey, she was accomodating and she got all my specific orders done perfectly. Plus, when my husband pick up the cakes, the owner was extremely nice, helping bringing the cakes in to the car. I recommended this bakery to a lot of our church members who was impressed with the durian cake that I brought. It was a good experience for us. Well done Yum Yum!! Definitely coming...
