So this is an American diner. Just fyi. I think I sort of expected something else from the name. I ended up really enjoying my meal. In order to get all the healthy vegetables and fruit I wanted I ordered a bunch of sides instead of a meal. The steel cut oatmeals is great because it’s flavored with fruit instead of sugar or honey. The collard greens with bacon and spinach were good and went well with the eggs I got. The eggs were over easy instead of over medium like I requested, but it’s minor and every restaurant I’ve been to has done the same. Overall cost of my meal was higher than most of their meals in order to eat healthy. I couldve gotten eggs, biscuit and bacon for only $8. That’s probably the thing I’d like to see is if they have more healthy options. Actually what I got was pretty perfect but it’d be nice if it was a little cheaper than the $17 I paid. It would be nice to see a healthy protein option like tempeh or tofu, instead of bacon and eggs which are both more fat heavy than protein heavy foods.

In Austin for work, rest and relaxation and tumbled into this casual looking cafe. We both had a delicious breakfast experience! I got the Chilaquiles which included eggs, potatoes and beans topped with an avocado. Super yummy! My partner got the egg sandwich which was incredible. Desert was a delicious pancake that was so light and fluffy. I would recommend this Besides the delicious orange juice, the coffee was really good as well. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the staff create and orchestrate all of the orders, they rock that kitchen, so professional! I wish we had a cafe like this in Portland!

Stopped in at Counter Cafe today for a bite. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy with a side of scrambled eggs made to perfection. The gravy was okay, filling but not sausage gravy. Kevin waited on me and was very attentive. I said at the bar and watched all the food being prepared in front of me. The Counter Benedict looks really delicious made with two poached eggs, seared pastrami, homemade biscuit, hollandaise, and breakfast potatoes on the side. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning for the Counter Benedict.

First time in my life I have ever experienced discrimination by the restaurant host - we registered with him and after more than half an hour of various parties getting to sit at the counter and getting tables before us I questioned him. He immediately got a bad attitude and said I was waiting for my party. My daughter was with me when I registered and my husband parked right in front of the door where he was standing. Soon after my daughter decided to wait in the car since it was hot outside. Time passed and he never asked me if my party was here and he never asked if sitting in the counter was an option. Keep in mind that before I questioned him. I heard him asking others that got there after me if their party had arrived and telling them that as soon as they would get there he would seat them. I told him he saw that my party was with me since the get go and he continued to argue with my husband and I. It was such an awful experience that we ended up leaving. Therefore, if you ever decide to go there please make sure you indicate where your party is at or you won't...

I live in the neighborhood and used to eat here regularly. The folks who work there are wonderful and my 1 star rating has nothing to do with them. My issue is the owner of this place contracted Central Parking Enforcement (do a quick Google review) to manage the parking situation around the business and they are the scummiest guys you'll run across. While Door Dashing Cabo Bob's (literally right across the street, away from my car less than 5 minutes), I received a $100 parking ticket. Explained my situation to the enforcement guy and got nowhere. I hope the owner of Counter Cafe wasn't aware of who was hiring when he decided to use Central Parking enforcement. As I mentioned before, I used to love this place but now I can't support this business considering who they've decided to work. Having a parking enforcement company is fine but use a different...
