Dish Society — Restaurant in Austin

This little gem has been in my midst for at least a year and this was my first time stopping by and I will be back! I tried making reservations online only to discover that the option wasn't available, so when we walked in, we did not know what to expect. We were directed to the counter to order, just like at Loro. While deciding on what to order, I could not help but salivate at the mouth watering slices of pie inside the dessert case. Lucky for us, we arrived during Social Hour which is Monday-Friday 7-9am & 2-6pm; Saturday-Sunday 4-7pm. This is considered their Happy Hour times and the specials on food and drinks is crazy! We're talking $5 snacks, slices of pie, 6oz wine pours, $7 cocktails, $10 burger & fries, and $20 bottles of wine! It's crazy and well appreciated especially when a lot of restaurants are increasing their prices, but providing lower quality food. We took advantage of the social hour and enjoyed several sparkling roses and prickly pear frozen margaritas! We shared the pretzels & queso and I did not enjoy it as the cheese tasted as if it contained lard. However, I did thoroughly enjoy the salmon poke bowl! It was fantastic! I also took home a slice of the cherry pie and I went to bed...

We had a bit of a hiccup during our visit—due to a mix-up in the kitchen, our order was delayed and we waited about 50 minutes. But honestly, what could have been a frustrating situation turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had, thanks to the exceptional service from Mark.

From the moment he realized what happened, Mark went above and beyond. He was kind, professional, and sincerely apologetic. Not only did he take the time to explain the situation and keep us updated, but he also completely made things right by refunding our checks and even bringing out some extra complimentary items from the menu. His attentiveness and care turned a delay into a chance to feel truly valued as a guest.

And the food was phenomenal. My friend and I got the Memorial Trail Scramble and it was so flavorful and fresh —well worth the wait.

Despite the initial issue, we left with full hearts and full stomachs. Thanks to Mark’s exceptional service and the quality of the food, this restaurant has earned a spot on our favorites list. We’ll absolutely be back—and recommending...

Ordered online - delivery driver either stole food or didn't deliver, but I didn't ever receive it. Terrible customer service and no refund given.

Dish society wouldn't refund me, and fobbed me off to Uber Eats who also wouldn't refund me. (I didn't order through Uber Eats, I ordered direct through Dish Society's website, the delivery driver was just affiliated with Uber Eats).

I rung up a second time to try and get a new order ID from Dish Society (as Uber Eats said the one they gave me wasn't even the right format). Someone answered the phone and then disappeared for 5 or so minutes until I gave up - sounded like they just put the phone down and went off doing something else.

Terrible customer service, the onus shouldn't be on the customer to dispute merchant refunds with delivery companies - especially ones I didn't even order, when I ordered direct, so the transaction lies with Dish Society. Will never order here again and recommend others...
