My top fav restaurant in Austin, hands down. Be it the food, service, or ambience, it's incredible.
Every time I've been here, the staff has been super welcoming and easy to talk to. They're enthusiastic and not overbearing whatsoever. They are super helpful when it comes to recommending food items and working around food restrictions, and if you tell them what you're in the mood for, they can tell you what they'd think you might like easily. It's very easy to trust their recommendations.
The portion sizes are large; for the price of each item it's amazing. Too much for me, but the food is nice at home too.
The jackfruit curry is a solid 9.5/10, absolutely amazing as well. It's mild, warm, and slightly sweet, pairing well with the spices. It's really hearty, and the sweet potato in it is great. It smells SO good!
The tacos are a 9/10. Super fresh ingredients here all around, really tasty. The refried black beans in particular are nice.
The tofu broccoli salad is really fresh, and the sauces it comes with are really flavorful. Compared to the rest of the menu, it's a little less filling, which is necessary for the hearty items common in the rest of the entrees.
I regularly get the veggie royale with the pecan pesto and it is just so good!! Maybe slightly dry but the burger tastes PHENOMENAL and pairs with the pesto super well.
That spicy pecan pesto in particular is godly. We usually get it with tortilla chips due to dietary restrictions, and oh my god it has to be the best appetizer I've ever eaten at a restaurant. It's smoky, salty, nutty, sweet, and a little spicy too. Amazing. I can't reccomend it enough.
The guacamole here is basically just a smokier, spicier version of a normal one. Maybe a slightly sweet aftertaste. It wasn't as great as the pesto, but it's not bad at all. If you're a guac lover I would recommend it.
The hazelnut affogato is phenomenal. Super dark hazelnut expresso (the high quality stuff) with light and sweet vanilla ice cream. Definitely the favorite dessert of my family. Really strong coffee taste that's mellowed by the ice cream. Absolutely amazing.
The brookie is definitely my favorite. It's gluten free, rich, chocolatey, and a little dry, so it pairs great with the vegan vanilla ice cream add on. I wouldn't recommend it without the vanilla ice cream, though.
I personally didn't like the London fog because I had never tried earl grey before. I thought they had poured lavender in it or something... But if you like that kind of thing you're definitely going to enjoy it. It's warm and sweet, still high quality.
The deserts tend to be small, but they taste incredible.
Other than that, I'd like to mention the fact they highlight artists and helpful organizations. They tend to get busy, so they keep water...

As a self-proclaimed veggie burger connoisseur, I've had the pleasure of trying some of the best veggie burgers in the country, but Bouldin Creek Cafe's version is a serious contender for the top spot.
Hands down, Houston's/Hillstone's has been my go-to spot for the best veggie burger in the world, but Bouldin Creek Cafe is officially giving them a run for their money. The veggie burger at Bouldin Creek Cafe is a masterclass in flavor and texture, with a perfectly cooked patty that's both juicy and crispy. The bun is soft and slightly sweet, and the toppings are fresh and expertly prepared.
What truly sets Bouldin Creek Cafe's veggie burger apart, however, is its commitment to using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. You can taste the difference in every bite, from the freshness of the lettuce to the richness of the avocado. The patty itself is made with a blend of black beans, quinoa, and vegetables, and is seasoned to perfection with a blend of spices and herbs.
I was also impressed by the portion size, which was generous and filling without being overwhelming. The prices were also very reasonable, making Bouldin Creek Cafe a great value for the quality and quantity of food you receive.
But what truly makes Bouldin Creek Cafe stand out is its commitment to sustainability and community. The cafe is powered by solar energy, and the staff is passionate about reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices. The atmosphere is also warm and welcoming, with a cozy patio area that's perfect for a relaxing meal or a casual gathering with friends.
Overall, I would highly recommend Bouldin Creek Cafe to anyone looking for a delicious and sustainable meal in Austin. The veggie burger is a must-try, and the cafe's commitment to community and sustainability makes it a truly special place.

ATMOSPHERE A great place for a calming morning. The energy is laid-back and friendly. I visited this restaurant for the first time on a cold December morning, and the inside was warm and cozy.
FOOD I ordered the maple spice latte and the temperature of the coffee was such that I could enjoy it right away. The maple is subtle and the overall flavor was perfect for a winter morning. The caffeine content was moderate. The garden breakfast is exactly as advertised. There are more fun dishes on the menu but this classic was good. I personally prefer a charred or lighted sautéed tomato. They were served cold. Upon reflection, I would have preferred a drizzle of olive oil, but I hadn’t asked for it at the time. The spinach and eggs could have been warmer, and this is the only fault I found in the entire experience at this restaurant. The blueberry cornbread was delicious and quite a large piece. It is a true cornbread with fresh, juicy blueberries. The vegan butter and maple syrup really put it over the top. Perhaps the real star of the show was the vegan cinnamon roll, which was served warm from the oven. They can go fast, so make sure to get there early if you want one. Our server went above and beyond to make sure we got one.
SERVICE My party had the pleasure of being served by January. She was kind, attentive, and really made our experience. When we were ordering, she was able to offer options on-the-spot, ensuring that each breakfast was made to our liking. This is the first time in a long time that I felt the breakfast was made just for me and not that I was one more plate for the kitchen to make. The pace of January’s service was on point, with the right frequency for us to have everything we needed right when we needed it without feeling rushed or interrupted. Additional staff made sure to clear empty plates and refill our coffees.
