Tried this chicken for the first time yesterday. Right at the beginning will say I am coming back 100%. People are so hospitable. TL;DR is the chicken is amazing, the sauces and fried could use a little tweaking! The boss behind the counter hooked me and my friend up with both the sauces and the mint yogurt one was absolutely 10/10 and was perfect for the spice level of the chicken. The tikka could’ve used more spice or complexity because it felt like a creamy tomato, which is close to tikka sauce I’ve tried but maybe a stronger hit of acidity or cumin or garam masala to differentiate take this to the next level The chicken was absolutely moist and 10/10 in seasoning and flavors. The Schezwan is that buildable spice that pairs perfectly with the mint yogurt sauce!! The nuggs could’ve been a little crispier but still overall great. Can’t recommend the Honey 65 enough either it was the right hit of seasoning combined with sweetness (if he offered honey I would’ve gotten more to drizzle on) As for the fries they were perfectly light and crispy but needed some more seasoning, either garlic or salt to give it that elevation but I finished the entire thing so 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 If you’re looking for a new take on fried chicken, this is the spot to be. The ambiance of the place felt nice and it was so easy to relax with friends as well.

Visited the food truck tucked away by a bar around the UT area, don't miss this food truck. Amazing burgers, nuggets and service. I did a take out order and called ahead, the sandwich was prepared hot and fresh on a cold evening and it turned out to be perfect. I tried the "bhenchoo" sandwich (not for the faint of the heart) but I got a sweat workout. The chicken was fresh, moist and juicy and the duck fat definitely does the trick. For a very bit sandwich, it was very flavorful and had a great kick. Also got the schezwan nuggets and it was delicious. Maybe I would get a different choice of sauce the next time to go along with it but the nuggets itself were crispy and very flavorful. I liked the fact that the sandwich bun was separated out as well as the pickles so that the sandwich does not become soggy in a take out box. Raj was great to talk to and I hope more patrons will visit Guppys and give it a try for its awesome sandwich, nuggets and fries. I need to be back for the other variants.

If you’re craving a sandwich that packs both flavor and heat, this Indian food truck nails it. The chicken breast is fried to crispy perfection—juicy inside, crunchy outside—and it doesn’t get lost under the spice. The seasoning has a real kick, the kind that warms your mouth without overwhelming the flavor. The bun is soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together, and the pickles add that tangy crunch you need with fried chicken. The sauce is creamy with just a hint of sweetness, balancing out the spice perfectly. Every bite feels indulgent but well thought out. Overall, it’s the kind of sandwich you think about long after you’re done. If you like bold flavors and a little fire, this is absolutely worth it. 🌶️🍗🍔 Must try items The South Gangster Sando and Chicken Nuggs, Garlic Duck Fat fries

I could not have been more pleased with my experience at Guppy’s ATX! My friend and I got the garlic duck fat fries, a 10pc honey 65 chicken nuggets, 1 honey 65 sandwich and a southern gangster sandwich. We also got two mango lassis. The honey 65 perfectly encapsulated its namesake(chennai chicken 65), It tasted authentic and the honey fusion melded with the 65 flavor perfectly. Props to the chef for that flavor combo. The southern gangster was their second spiciest flavor and it DELIVERED. Plenty of flavor and a great amount of spice. Portions for all the food were great, especially the fries. The fries had the perfect crisp texture that you’d want from a crinkle cut, and the duck fat flavor was unbeatable. Mango lassis was phenomenal as well, tasted authentic and more like a yogurt than milk(which it should be). If I were to nitpick, I’d say the creamy tikka sauce was a little watery and I’d personally prefer a a little bit of a creamier texture. That being said, the mint chutney that came with the nuggets was bomb, and their ranch was pretty standard. The chill nighttime atmosphere with all the lights at Tweedy’s only added to the experience. The food was super high quality, but my experience with the owner, Raj, was what really made it. He seemed very down to earth, extremely personable and passionate. He even refused our tip and said we could tip after we ate and only if we enjoyed the food, that’s how you know he’s in this for the right reasons. Could not rave more about this place, just wish they opened up sooner! Will be coming back and telling everyone about...

Finally made it out here after wanting to try it for awhile. I'll just get it out of the way first: easily the best hot chicken in Austin.

I tried the sando with Honey 65 sauce, the nuggets with the South Gangster sauce/rub, tikka chili fries, and a mango lassi. The chicken is cooked to order and so it comes out hot, crispy, and perfectly done. And they use duck fat! Hell yeah.

The flavors are both familiar if you're a hot chicken fan but also definitely its own thing due to the Indian influence.

If you're a fan of places like T22, then this is that but kicked up a notch. They use thigh meat only, so the meat is juicy and tender and not dried out.

Prices are MORE than fair for the quality of what you get here.

The owner Raj is super friendly. We had to wait a little bit before he could take our order because he was finishing up another order. He wouldn't let us give him a tip and just asked that we spread the word if we liked the food. Well the food was absolutely fire so I can't recommend it highly enough. Go...
