Never going here again. I went here one day with my friends after school was over. We had a half day so we got out at 12:00 and wanted to grab some lunch. Our school is near this location of Kerbey Lane so we all went. Me and my other friend had gone here together once before and the service was pretty bad and the waiters and waitresses were very rude to us, but we decided to give it another shot. Bad choice. We walked in and requested a booth and the hostess rolled her eyes and told us it would be a 20 minute wait. It was lunch time so that was to be expected. About 15 minutes in of waiting, a lady walks up to me and my friends and asks us what school we go to and where it is. My friend explains that we had a half day and the lady walks away. We sit down a bit later and the waitress came over and was very rude. After a good 20 minutes we finally order. Our food comes out and it was mediocre. Me and one of my friends asked for two to go boxes and the waitress started saying that me and my friends needed to tip her "because waiters and waitresses work for like nothing". I'm 14 years old and I don't have much money to begin with. Obviously I was planning to tip, but the waitress was so rude and asked for a tip before we even got the bill. We quickly paid and left and we left a two dollar tip because again, we are 13 and 14 and don't have much money. The next week I'm at school and me and my two friends are called into the principals office. She tells us that Kerbey Lane contacted her saying that we were "rude, loud, obnoxious, and didn't tip their waitress". We didn't get in trouble because it didn't happen on campus, but one of my friends mothers was furious. She contacted the restaurant and is looking in the see that the waitress is fired. We also learned that the email isn't even from the waitress!!! It was from the lady that asked us what school we went to. She was apparently sitting in front of us and thought we didn't tip well or something an contacted our school. My friends mother is looking in the emailing her back as well. Long story short, don't come here. Bad service, rude staff, and...
Read moreWell we’re do I begin. Recently I’ve noticed that Kerbey is seemingly starting to change a few things around and not for the better. Foods still the same and delicious but that’s not where my problem is at. My problem is the changes they seem to be making inside the restaurant, with the new glass cups and the new way they set up tables with a napkin and utensils and underneath is a small plate. And with all these new changes I have noticed a change in the atmosphere. The atmosphere is a lot more hectic and intense as I see the waiters running back and forth trying to collect their breaths. by collecting plates and glass cups and keep in mind, all this is frankly new. Since I took my family at this exact location for a morning breakfast meal just last month. Within just this 1 month and all these new implementation’s of all these new changes, Kerbey has completely turned upside down. Kerbey feels like it’s trying to be something that it’s not, Kerbey is a family restaurant, NOT whatever it’s trying to be or become. I want to wind down and relax, have a nice meal but I can’t seem to do that anymore since everyone is trying there hardest on cleaning up a table. They have single handedly completely gotten rid of the person who is meant to clean tables that they used to have and just have given all the work and responsibility to the waiters. To the point I have to flag down my waiter for a simple refill. And for that I give this location 1 star for its intense atmosphere. Very disappointed on what Kerbey is becoming. And when are they bringing back...
Read moreThe food was awesome. I got the Baked Potato omelette and my boyfriend got the Crispy Chicken Benedict. A lot of the menu looked really good (my second choice would have been the patty melt). Even though there was a bit of a wait for the food it was still good and very much worth it. The reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of the experience with Andrew R. When we sat down, he approached us, never mentioned his name, and he never visited again after he brought our drink orders (I only mentioned the part about the name because he did introduce himself to all other tables). He visited every other table around us multiple times, offered extras, and never turned around to even check on us or refill our drinks. My boyfriends cappuccino was so good I was going to order one as well but by the time I got a hold of him it was after our food had came and was brought to us by a different guy. After asking for my refill and finally getting his attention I let him know that we were upset with the service and he needed to do better, he replied that it was busy because it was a Saturday. I am very well aware that it is a college graduation weekend, a Saturday afternoon, and every table in the section was pretty full, but also watching him visit every other table but ours repeatedly didn't add up. I will definitely dine again if I'm back in Austin but I'll make sure to get literally any other...
