McDonald's — Restaurant in Austin

This location is hit or miss on service provided, it's never ever good customer service, but you can occasionally catch the lowest level of acceptable customer service every few visits. I go there for breakfast mostly but occasionally lunch, like I actually just did today before writing this review. Today ,5/6/23, I got fries, a shake, a soda, and a double cheese burger. Much like other times even recently my food has become dog treats and trash due to the way they were received, inedible. They legit replaced a breakfast order, pictured in this review; they replaced it this past Wednesday morning 5/3/23, where my fraps were mostly large ice than like a frap normally is, one side of my English muffin was rubber and couldn't be chewed and the other side was soggy. I wrote a review directly to McDonalds on Oltorf and Congress and manager contacted me in a very decent timely manner and was very kind to replace the order. However the replacement was not better. The fraps were better, but the sandwiches were equally not ok and ended up in the trash. Just like my entire double cheese burger did today and my fries with no salt which will typically get you fresh fries, but this way I can share with my pups and they were cold under the top fries, explain that to me? 🤣 No CSR or manager there has a CSR personality, well they do for CSR's here in Austin, as many seem to hate their jobs and the ppl they have to associate with and I am not blind to the fact CSRs are met with incredibly rude ppl and it can get hard and tiring but as someone in Customer Service I don't find those reasons acceptable reasons to be short, rude or outright disrespectful. Kindness is Free. I don't always wake up on the right side of the bed, I have medical issues that cause me a great deal of discomfort, but I'll tell you what, being met with kindness in those moments can turn my entire mood around. Being met with poor service just adds to my hardships as now I've wasted money on something I wanted to enjoy. Point being if this were a one or two or even four time occurrence I wouldn't give 2 stars (and at this point I feel as though that's generous), but this is nearly every day I go kind of thing. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been to this particular McDonald's and have had wasted food due to being inedible and poor, uncommunicative, rude service. This review is to be educational about this spot NOT for free food. As I mentioned the one time they've offered a replacement 1/2 the order was not ok and it was inedible. I don't go to McDonalds often but more often than others I'm sure, as it's typically at least once a WK at that particular McDonald's on Oltorf alone. After today's service and food, I think I will attempt to stop wasting my money there. (This McDonald's is not alone, you're hard to find good customer service and edible food at any fast food restaurant in ATX, but it doesn't make any of their behavior and poor quality of food that pays their check,...

The manager was a real so and so here. Very dismissive and just obviosly angry. I told him the Coke was broken out here, he said it the same I said the Coke is broken, he said diet coke or coke? I said coke, he said diet coke or coke I said coke, regular coke? Alot of passive aggressive words were exchanged about the Coke not working in the dining room, after I sat down to eat and considered it a loss, he came back from the back at least 4 minutes later with what he yelled out was a large coke, I took it and yelled thanks as he didn't want to make eye contact and was walking away. I promptly set it in the dining room soda area. I was confused by why he was so angry and wondered if I made him angry by asking curtly for coke, but realized quickly that he never took the opportunity to be pleasant. I'm not saying I did everything perfect in this exchange, but the fire turned up from the get bc this guy was a real treat.

This was my favorite McDonald's and I've never had problems with any other employee. I think this guy doesn't want to work here anymore and needs a nudge towards the door. I understand having to work on a Sunday at one of the least fun jobs but this is no way to treat a person. This was Sunday Oct 2 2022 about 440pm. Flies were everywhere in the kitchen. I stood at the register for 10 minutes before someone came to assist me. There were no other customers they were just on thier phones until one girl working the drive through window finally told them I was there and it still took another 5 minutes for them to answer my question. Again there were no other customers at the counter so I was just being ignored. Which by the way they don't have giftcards. When I asked them why, they answered very rudely saying "I dont know we just didnt order them!" Such a disappointment to come here on numerous occasions ice cream.machine is always broken. How can you run a business and not have gift cards easiest revenue ! A family of customer came up behind me who had finished their meals to chit chat with the worker who was wearing a navy blue button down. She was eager to assist them with what seem to be free request for stuff . They were speaking is spanish and the kids were jumping and pointing at something behind counter. Im off to Chic fil A or What a burger. Better service...
