Updated review:
I am adjusting my review as I was contacted by the owner who explained some of the possibilities associated with the cinnamon rolls. I find it very refreshing that anybody would take the time to reach out to a customer regarding any discrepancies that they might've had during their visit. I give this business owner a lot of credit and would like to add a star based on his demeanor and appreciation for his customers. I wish this business nothing but the best and hope it succeeds so I may visit again the next time I am in town.
Original Review:
While visiting family, we decided to grab some coffee at a local place. The place is supposed to be known for their cinnamon rolls.
We tried an ice latte, chai tea and an espresso with of course a cinnamon roll. I failed to take pictures as we were too busy talking and catching up. I was a bit disappointed by the size of the cinnamon roll. It was about the size of a Pillsberry cinnamon roll except square in shape. The texture was a little bit gooey and slightly under done, which might be the way some people like it. I would prefer a slightly fuller roll with more cinnamon than it had. It did get eaten, no worries there.
The coffees were good but nothing to write home about. The overall price for all the items I think came out to be around $20, which is actually a pretty decent price considering the location.
The male employee who took our order was friendly, but clearly more interested in talking to the young ladies in line. I can’t hold that against him too much but when it comes to service, people don’t want to feel any less important than the next person.
Overall I would probably visit this place again but forgo the...

Starting off within their cottage, Teal House Coffee & Bakery is a family-owned business with a brick and mortar along South Congress. I went around 8:30 a.m. on a Wednesday. Here's my experience:
Food: They are known for their cinnamon buns. I ordered one and expected a life-changing experience for all the hype. My cinnamon bun was lukewarm, hard to cut with the plastic fork provided and tasted average. On the other hand, the jalapeno sausage and cheese kolache was great!
Coffee: Again, I expected more. My vanilla latte was barely vanilla or sweet. When I went to add sugar, all they had were small packets of sugar alternatives, which is better for you, but I'd appreciate the option of real sugar at least. Also, when I ordered, I asked for a 20 ounce cup and was given a 12 ounce cup.
Space: True to its name, the counter has teal tiles. Outside of that, the space is pretty simple. There's an open dining room with a few tables and a few tables outside. If you're on your computer, know the windows let all the light in so it's hard to see your screen. Don't miss the murals on the outside back of the shop.
Amenities: They have a password-protected wifi, but it was on two bars. It was so weak, I couldn't access wifi on my computer. I had to leave after ten minutes to go elsewhere.
I LOVE this coffee shop's story and it is worthy of visiting. I just didn't have the best of experiences compared to the 10 other coffee shops I visited...
Read moreHi. I'm a Dasher, I guess the food is great the person that ordered the food ordered it from there. I was just delivering it! But you know we live in a world where different cultures are going to be a part of every day lives. And treating people different is not right. I went in Teal House Coffee &Bakery, to pick up an order for someone, and there was a cashier helping someone else, I'm like cool I'm next, so I made my way to the counter, I was already standing there, but I was waiting my turn. No, I did not get acknowledged, No hello, No nod of the head, No may I help you. None of that, so I made sure I was seen by going to the counter and standing there-still nothing, so by now I'm like okay maybe he don't see me. (Which was very hard not to see me) Then the other guy came out and talked to the cashier that didn't see me! They were talking about the water line or something I was still standing there, the other guy walked off and did a double take like, have you been helped? I was like NO! told him what I needed and he gave it to me.(My Dasher Order) Then just while I was grabbing the order, a older couple came in and the cashier that didn't see me! He saw them! Hey How are you all doing? How is the day going, good to see you again! All that he was saying, but he didn't see my nice jolly round black face! Yeah right! Of course I was the only one with a black face, so It wasn't hard to see me! But he saw...
