My husband and I absolutely love the food here. The only complaint I have is that every time I try to call and order ahead because I don't have money on my card and I have to pay cash and I just like the food to be ready, I get hung up on. There's no explanation I just say hello I would like to order for pickup, and there's a pause and I get hung up on by the same lady. I understand if she doesn't speak English etc but there's no explanation like I don't speak English or anything like that. I just flat-out get hung up on it's very frustrating I tried to as I've left messages with the number that I'm calling. And I'm just trying to let the owner know that that's just I've never had any restaurant are any other place in my life when you order food just hang up on me like for a week straight on honestly. It's very deterring and again my husband and I absolutely love the food here but that's very rude and I just want to find a solution to this problem maybe? I probably can come there but again it's it's very convenient when you can call the place and order and have it ready for pickup. Only complaint which I think is kind of a big one at least have her say like if she can't speak English or something like that but just to hang up on somebody is quite rude. Thank you so much again we love your food. Update, I've tried again several times to call in food and not one time has the same lady answered me she just hangs up on me. I mean it's crazy. I've never had any business ever treat me this way. Every time I call to order food from you guys the lady hangs up on me every single time such bad business. I'm very upset about it because it's very convenient when you can call to a place why do you even have a phone? It's just nuts. How...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the BEST food court taco experiences in South Austin!!!! The food is great, salsas AMAZING, and the everything about the kitchen is clean, clean, CLEAN!!!!! The staff (probably the owners) are very pleasant, work quickly to get your order ready, and are very appreciative of feedback. They partner with Uber Eats, so you can get your meals delivered QUICKLY whether you're staying in to avoid COVID or just want to stay glued to your favorite show on a binge night!
I can't say enough good things about my handful of South Austin favorites, whether it's a sit-down restaurant or a one of these food court gems. We are truly blessed to live in a town like Austin with it's rich variety of eating and entertainment options. Don't let the COVID blues keep you from experiencing everything our area has to offer, and be sure to thank the people working in these places for staying the course through these strange times we're in. We don't want to lose these fantastic small businesses and the variety they provide.
ALSO, if a taste of the Caribbean is your thing, there's another trailer right next to theirs with some amazing smells that I'll have to try out and...
Read moreI heard so many great things on Instagram about Oye Taquito 956 and since we were in Austin, we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. Accidently had this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband and I placed one order for the mini street tacos and a piña agua fresca (for me) and 4 flautas (for him). Devoured it! He went back to the window and ordered more flautas and a cup of charro beans for me so I could stay warm while dining in the cold. Both the tacos and flautas were so good. The flautas were perfectly crispy and crunchy and filled with just enough meat. The street tacos come loaded, onions & cilantro, avocado plus queso fresco and flavorful sauces on the side!! The best.
We left, then after a nice afternoon and late night improv show, we ended up back at Oye Taquito - this time for an 8-pack of flautas and two orders of mini street tacos to take back to our hotel room. It was soooo good. Only problem is I wish there was a location...
