Vegan Nom Food Park — Restaurant in Austin

I've been eating at Vegan Nom for years, and the food is some of the best vegan cuisine I've found in Austin. But recently, the service leaves much to be desired.

Both of these incidents involved the same employee (a white woman with brown hair, tattoos, and glasses).

The first incident occurred about three months ago. I ordered a burger in person at the Vegan Nom truck. When I received my order and unwrapped it at my table, I noticed the buns were burnt pitch black. I went back to the truck and politely asked for a remake. The employee scoffed, rolled her eyes at me, and snatched the burger out of my hands without saying a word to me. Even though I received the remade order, I was unpleasantly surprised by this employee's demeanor.

The second incident occurred this past Saturday, when I was at the Vegan Nom truck in person again. As soon as I approached the truck, I noticed that this same employee had a short temperament with every customer who ordered before me. Her tone of voice was clipped and unfriendly. The best way I can describe her attitude is that it seemed like she did not want to be at work, and she was taking out that frustration on the customers. I was so put off by this attitude that I used the online system to order my meal.

Speaking from years of kitchen experience (both in brick and mortar kitchens and food trucks) and from years of managerial experience, I understand the difficulties of working in the food service industry. I also know that those difficulties are not an excuse to be rude to customers.

I understand it can be difficult to maintain employee oversight at food trucks, due to the lack of accountability that results from one person single-handedly operating a food truck kitchen. I hope this review provides an opportunity for accountability.

Most importantly, this review is not coming from a place of malice. It is because I love Vegan Nom and I want myself and other customers to have a positive dining experience that I implore management to address this employee's attitude...

Atmosphere loses one star ONLY because Taxa is hot as hades. They do their best with adding shade but it's almost July.
