Update: June 8, 2024 My 2nd visit and I really wanted to order something different but was craving their delicious Eggplant Parmigiana appetizer! Of course it was amazing! They are definitely consistent! Piping hot, tender, sweet and cheesy! Yes extremely yummy! Service was excellent, of course!!! A warm welcome from the Hostess team! My charming and delightful server Millie (her nickname) was attentive and knowledgeable! I was once again too full for dessert but ordered an espresso! Also delicious! Can’t wait to return! May 28,2024 What an incredible treasure Divieto Ristorante in Aventura Mall is! From the moment you approach the Hostess Stand you are welcomed like family with a friendly smile and warm greeting! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! A throwback to Little Italy with a modern flair! I chose a very comfortable booth and almost immediately Claudia R. my amazing server welcomed me-and took my wine order.. I ordered my Pinot Grigio and it came out quickly and was crisp and cold! Claudia also offered the most delicious warm bread, butter and olive oil dipping sauce. Definitely say yes to the bread! I had reviewed the menu as I always do the night before and had decided on the Eggplant Parmigiana appetizer.. I’m Italian and Greek and a great cook and I love everything Eggplant! I had high expectations! I asked for light on the sauce and extra cheese please! Well, it exceeded my expectations! Easily the best Eggplant Parmigiana I’ve ever had and even better than my Eggplant Parmigiana! First, it’s a huge portion for an appetizer. It was perfect! The extra cheese was epic! The eggplant was so tender and sweet, no knife required! Please refer to my pictures! I actually ate the entire portion by myself! It came out piping hot and extremely delicious and yummy! I can’t wait to come back! I take Brightline Train from West Palm Beach to shop at Aventura Mall! The best Mall in the Country! Now my absolute favorite Restaurant in the Mall! Trust me they have amazing restaurants in the Mall! This is my new favorite! The service is outstanding! The atmosphere is trendy and welcoming! They were busy for lunch time during the week. Claudia was always checking on me .. Edward the manager visited my table and asked if I needed anything and if I enjoyed my lunch! Always a nice touch.. I’m a widow and dining alone is sometimes frowned upon taking up a table for 4 during lunch but not here.. they treated me with respect and welcomed me like family! They have inside and outside dining. The outside dining is completely covered and protected from the elements. The menu has something for everyone! It’s very affordable! Y glass of Pinot Grigio was only $9.50 and my Eggplant Parmigiana was only $16.50. Easily shared for a table as an appetizer! Of course I was too full to try dessert. Maybe next time! I highly recommend! I can’t wait to enjoy lunch again on my next...
Read moreTruly enjoy the experience of eating here. Seeing that there are other Italian restaurants in the area. Made me wonder how different this one would be and there are differences when compare to the other two that I would consider similar in price and ambiance.
First the negatives. As a new restaurant , it’s still trying to get some things right specially In terms of training of new employees , I would suggest, kindly, that employees practice speaking English among themselves and not do much in Spanish , so that when they meet customers that do not speak Spanish they can handle the conversations and explaining of dishes a bit better.
The bread offering : might sound silly but first impressions are important. I do go back to an Italian restaurant that takes pride in their Italian bread and their signature oil and herb bread dip. Needs an upgrade.
The positives.
This restaurant will definitely make their competitors take notice and step up their game
In terms of quality of food, food preparation and presentation : All first rate.
They clearly know what their purpose is. Food ingredients are first class. Our lamb chops tasted a cut above in terms of tenderness and flavor. Cooked perfectly. The chef got it right.
We also hat their Ruota Di Parmigiano , one of their signature dishes, prepared by our table. Had a little trouble understanding the waiters explanation of the dish as she spoke very fast. But the dish was perfect. The aged cheese made all the difference. Spoon licking good.
I would go back to order this two dishes again but there are so many other options to try.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The ambiance. The amount of employees hired to maintain the level of service is also very noticeable.
You can tell they are very quality conscious and have high expectations of themselves. This is admirable...
Read moreThey seated us quickly, and our waitress was incredibly friendly, offering recommendations and insights about the menu when we asked.
Our group of four kicked things off with the Spinach Formaggio (spinach dip), which was the best I’ve ever had, paired with garlic bread. We also ordered the Brushetta Siciliana, which was absolutely delightful. We were practically moaning with pleasure—after all, we are a group of food lovers!
For the main course, one person had the Lasagne Bolognese (I tried a bite, and while it was good, I wasn’t a fan of the red sauce; I’m not sure what it was, but the dish did melt in my mouth). Two others ordered the Lobster Ravioli and either the Linguine Vongole or Frutti Di Mare—I can’t remember exactly, but both ladies cleaned their plates with enthusiasm! Unfortunately, I couldn’t try any of it due to a severe shellfish allergy. I went with the Spaghetti and Meatballs, but I wasn’t impressed with the red sauce or the meatballs; they were too soft for my taste. I like my meatballs to have a firmer texture, and the sauce felt a bit too salty. I can’t quite figure out why my dinner didn’t meet my expectations. Still, I would return if I find myself in Miami again, just for those starters and the cocktail I ordered, which I can’t recall the name of, but it had a bubble on top and was delicious.
Dessert was a bit of a letdown for me, as I’m a baker and a foodie, so I have high standards. Two of us shared the brownie, but after one bite, I politely declined to continue. However, the other two girls enjoyed the Divieto Cannoli, which I must say was fantastic when I had a bite.
The highlight of the evening was the kindness of our waitress. We traveled from NYC to celebrate our best friend’s recent MBA achievement, and they surprised her with...
