Didn’t realize there was a drive thru option thought it was a sit down restaurant, the seating was cramped, uncomfortable, and inadequate, wooden seats really? High top with also wooden seats? You’re trying to be to many things at once without focusing on perfecting anything, the meat in general was good, at least for the brisket and pork and chicken. Those ribs? Dry as hell with too much cartilage, coleslaw was neither sweet nor vinegary, I prefer sweet and yours was just bland, cornbread would of been decent smothered in butter, but ya offered none, the Mac and cheese was bland, my brisket sandwich saved the day after adding bbq sauce, not impressed with the Nashville chicken sandwich or what we ordered called “ the butchers block” I may have the name wrong all and all for a bbq place no sorry. You fell short of the mark. Pick what you’re going to be. A drive thru, a restaurant, or a to go service, your quality lacks and it shows because your focus is on too many things. Long story short meat Was good, sides sucked.
Edit* Second experience was worse then before if it wasn’t for the customer service agent that reached out to me you’d be at a 2 star review, actually no, it was just awful so it’ll be a 1 star
Mother’s Day, ordered the motherload seemed a fitting name. Size first, overload with the cheap meats then small amounts of brisket and pulled pork. Whoever made the brisket that day fire em. Outer edge was like dumping a salt shaker on your tongue. inedible. Chicken was dry and lacked flavor of any kind. Sausage was like eating a plain hot dog. Ribs were ok but dry. Pulled pork was dry turkey was dry. Texas toast lacked butter or flavor. Just all in all everything was just not good, will not be returning. Canes and chilis are right next door. Foods good there.
I’m so dissatisfied that I wish I could just say to my bank the whole charge was fraud. Waste of money and a disappointment for Mother’s Day. When CHILDREN don’t like the food you’ve got an even bigger issue then you realize.
PS. Making fake google accounts with ONLY ONE REVIEW ? Really? Good luck with the fake reviews boosting your stats I hope people aren’t fooled by...
Read moreFirst time out in about two weeks after a major surgery. Showed up about quarter to eight on a Friday night. Never been here before. Couldn’t wait to see how City measured up to Old Carolina and Mission. My focus is usually on the pulled pork and my girlfriend always goes for the brisket. We arrive. Smells good. We look at the menu: No pulled pork. Great. At least they have brisket. My girl is happy so….At $10, I figured this must be a primo sandwich. So I roll with the brisket too. I noticed they didn’t have the option of chopped or sliced like their competitors do, only sliced. Two brisket sandwiches and two fries it is. Comes up to about $25. We get it home and dig in. My girlfriends sando is stacked with nice looking slices of lean meat. I unwrap mine and go to apply the sauce and….slice upon slice of pure clear glistening FAT. Total fat. Not a lean shred of meat to be found. Absolutely Inedible. Not salvageable by any stretch. I mean, someone had to completely go out of their way to purposely pile THIS MUCH sludgy, gelatinous FAT on one lonely bun. Gross. Just gross. There were a couple of employees with long faces and the telltale ‘I hate this job’ type body language back there preparing the food. Maybe a smoking gun right there. Conjecture aside, did I mention how fatty this sandwich was? I’m usually a pulled pork guy and I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to try it. But if it has slimy hunks of fat in it the way the brisket did, I’m glad I found out about it first; albeit the hard way. It’ll be kind of easy to not come back considering that the aforementioned Mission and Carolina have NEVER totally wigged me out with an absolute throwaway waste of money experience. Your results may vary. And...
Read moreHas gone down quickly. When this place first opened, the service was amazing. There were more employees than customers. My first couple of trips there were great. The food is pretty good for fast food bbq. Not going to win any awards, but pretty darn good. And the employees were super helpful and courteous. But my last take out experience was pretty bad. Picked up in store and was handed a stapled bag with a receipt on it. I looked at the receipt and everything was checked off with a marker. So I figured they had everything in there. When I got home ( a 10 minute drive) I found out they forgot my tacos and one of my side sauces. So I drove back and told them what happened. They proceeded to tell me they were out of the tacos. So why were they checked off? They then told me I could get any sandwich or ribs as a replacement. So I said I’ll take a pulled chicken sandwich. You guessed it, out of that too. So I took a pulled pork sandwich. They then proceeded to hand me the sandwich without a bag. So I guess I’m just walking out of there with a sandwich? And the straw that broke my back was they barely said sorry. I just drove 20 minutes to get this fixed while my other food is getting cold and barely a sorry? They could have offered me a refund or a free dessert , and I would have left happy. It doesn’t take a lot to make me forgive. Customer service is a lost art. Do yourself a favor and go to McAlister’s next store. Probably a better value and definitely...
