6 of us ate there this evening and we will not be going back. First the good: Nice setting and clean restaurant. The pricey menu had us thinking we were going to have great service and a fabulous meal. That was not the case. The bad: We started with water and the waiter seemed visibly disappointed by that. There were 6 of us and he brought 2 small salsa and chip baskets. The salsa was great, the chips were missing salt; no problem we salted them, except the salt shaker had a mixture of sugar and salt. With 6 people, 3 salsa and chip baskets would be preferable. When he came back to take our order, my selection had choices. After taking our orders, he came back to let me know, one of my choices was not available so I indicted the other was fine; he did not ask or listen to my bean choice so I recieved refried beans, again, not a big deal. The smothered nachos order had obviously sat for a while before coming out as the chips were soggy; though the dish was flavorful. Mine meal was bland. The vegetable burrito was actually a rice burrito. 2 of the dishes were OK and the 'hot' (spicy) one was good. The ugly: After delivering the food, the waiter never returned to confirm everything was acceptable. So we flagged down another waiter to ask why the vegetable burrito had only rice and no vegetables. He indicated the menu stated it had lettuce and tomato and, after closer examination, there were a few very small pieces of both; definitely a rice burrito and should be advertised as such. He also told her what the vegetable one was called. The customer mentioned she also hadn't gotten the black beans (she had mentioned the beans were missing when her food was delivered; the waiter said he was getting them). She asked for vegetables and was told there would be an additional charge; she indicated that was fine. The beans were delivered on the same plate as the vegetables. At that point we were ready to box some of the food and go. Our waiter brought one bill and when we asked him to split it, he was obviously not happy. When we got our bills, a 20% gratuity had been added; if the service had been good, he would have gotten more, instead, the 20% was more than he deserved. Disappointing...
Read moreAvoid this place, go to Sabor Mazatlan on the other side of Avon instead! This place has officially earned itself a 1 star. I wish I could put zero. It's so sad to see this place that I once frequented go down the drain. With service, food quality, serving sizes, and all around atmosphere. I've had two or three not so great experiences since my old review.. but tonight with my pick up order experience, I will not be coming to Fiesta Jalisco anymore. My order was so pathetic, and for paying over $100 I expected much more. No beans, cold chili rellenos, and hardly any rice, pico, or green sauce. I called and asked to speak to the manager (yes very Karen of me) but I have every right to want a refund. "No manager on duty, call back tomorrow" was the response I received. Embarrassing and just plain sad. Again go to Sabor Mazatlan, they beat this place by MILES, and they're actually friendly and helpful.
Old Review: Hit or miss here. Sometimes their entrees are big and full, other times I've gotten hardly any rice or beans. I can say their crispy chile relleno is incredible and my go to dish every time. Their service is definitely spotty. Sometimes we get greeted immediately and other times I've waited for 20 plus minutes to get water. I usually do to go now because of COVID and the spotty service I've experienced. Chips and salsa are free when sitting and for to go's and their always crispy hot chips and fresh salsa. I do like this...
Read moreEstablished in 2001, this family owned restaurant has been one our go-to places when in Vail. Located just west of vail, in a town called Avon, the place is cozy, run impeccably well by the Rodriguez family. I think there are a total of 6 restaurants but don’t quote me on that. The service is always friendly and prompt. We always have the big margarita: a must! This time around, we started with the queso fundido with chorizo. The chorizo had a little kick to it and it went well with the chips (from the chips and salsa that was brought earlier) to the tortillas that came with the order. We also got one of the large combination plates: the number 17 to be exact. The chile relleno was spicy! The tamale and enchiladas were tasty too, not spicy luckily. Lol My partner had a small combination platter: number 3 to be exact and added an extra taco. The taco came with shredded beef and it was outstanding he said. We finished everything with the churros: four churros with lots of whipped cream that had caramel drizzled on top: YUM!! No wonder we keep coming back to this place...
