So I am originally from the Northeast Ohio area but college and life has placed my roots in central Ohio the for the past 30 years. I came up for a weekend in November to attend a concert with my fiancée and made a last minute delivery order to get pizza before we headed into Cleveland. We randomly selected In Forno for delivery to our hotel, having never heard of the place. We were shocked at how amazing the pizza was, as it is the style we like best and have not found very many that pass the test. In Forno is now on top of that list. Great ingredients, amazing crust that clearly is baked in a wood-fired oven, and the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. That day we finished the pizza in minutes and wished we had more. Fast forward to last night, we made a second trip to the area, this time to stop at a local meat market from my childhood to grab some traditional food for new year’s. We decided to stay again in Avon and this time purposely ordered In Forno. We made a a couple special requests on our delivery and the owner went out of his way to accommodate us. Then, to our very pleasant surprise, he sent an additional pizza that was different than anything we ever tried. Both were hands down the best pizzas I’ve tasted. There was nothing left in either box! We are grateful for his gesture and I have already recommended this place to family who still live here. I plan on bringing my son here when we travel for a game in March. He is a huge fan of wood-fired pizzas and I know he will also give In Forno 5 stars. Thank you so much for making our last stay in the area before our wedding next month...
Read moreI used to say that there was only one true Neapolitan pizza place in the Cleveland area- Vero Pizza in Cleveland Heights. Now, I am ecstatic to say that there are two with the addition of In Forno Pizza Studio. Their product is the perfect 90 second pie out of an imported wood fired oven, hand built by the owner. DO NOT ORDER THIS FOR PICKUP!! Neapolitan pizza needs to be eaten immediately from the oven to enjoy its delicate nature. The family who owns and operates this pizzeria puts their hearts and souls into everything they do, and it shows. The parents are off the boat Italians, and their son, who was my server, was a master of his craft in spite of his young age. No expense is spared and the pies are simple in order to showcase the fresh ingredients. This is the kind of pizza that the average adult can eat an entire pie and not feel bloated or weighed down after. It is pizza perfection. As far as myself: I am a classically trained Italian chef with credentials from The American Culinary Federation, I have a father who is off the boat Italian, and I have eaten true Italian pizza all over the world - in my expert opinion, there is no finer pizza on the west side of Cleveland than In...
Read moreI love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly staff, however, you don’t get much for what you’re going to pay, or at least we didn’t. I understand fresh ingredients, authentic recipes...all that...but it means nothing if it’s served to you frugally!! I ordered the Inforno and while I was appreciative of the taste of the ingredients, i was very disappointed with how sparingly they were dished out. For $16, i expect more than 2 thin, quarter sized slices of meat and a spatter of bacon on each slice. My pizza also could’ve used a bit more time in the famed oven to crisp the crust. I’m not one for over loaded pizza, but the way the toppings were applied smacked of pretension so I can’t say I’d spend my money there again. If there were more toppings (say, 4 slices of sausage, and some bacon...enough to have all of those flavors in each bite) and if the crust was more crispy than chewy, I’d say this pizza was worth the exaggerated price tag (despite the size)...but I just can’t say that it was worth it...
