I have visited this location when it first opened and while the staff wasn't overly friendly I had a good experience. It was a bit confusing navigating how to order and get pastries but we figured it out. I visited this location again today and couldn't believe what I experienced. I put 3 pastries on a tray and took it up to the register. I wanted to order a cake but the cake I wanted chocolate salted carmel cake wasn't available in the display case. I asked a girl behind the counter if she had any chocolate salted carmel cakes left that I could order. She informed me that she didn't have any available. I said ok may I place an order for one for tomorrow? She told me yes I could place an order for tomorrow. Then a cashier waived me over to pay for my pastries and place my order for the cake. The cashier went over to get an order form and when she returned she asked me if i wanted to pay for the cake now. I told her yes i would pay for the cake now. Then she asked me what time I wanted to pick up the cake. I asked what time do you open tomorrow. She then said well you need 48 hours to place a cake order. I was confused considering I had just had 2 employees tell me I could place the order for tomorrow. I told the cashier I wish I would have known that I needed 48 hours to place a cake order. I explained that my father's birthday was tomorrow and that he really wanted the chocolate Carmel cake. I asked her if there was anyway she could take the order. The cashier then said no there are orders we have to fill tomorrow and won't be able to fill your order. I said ok then just forget about the cake. I then asked her for a sandwich. She rang out my 3 pastries and my sandwich. She then boxed my pastries and completely forgot about my sandwich. After a few minutes waiting I had to ask her about my sandwich. I asked her if she had charged me for the sandwich. She said yeah I did. Then I had to tell her I didn't receive my sandwich yet. She looked visibly upset threw my sandwich in a box haphazardly and handed it to me. I wanted my sandwich to be toasted but she didn't even ask me. She just handed me a cold sandwich. At this point I had had enough and just decided it leave. I was so upset by how incredibly rudely I was treated. Also that I was going home with out a cake for my father's birthday. I am a general manager for a restaurant and I would never let any of my employees treat a paying customer this way. We also do a ton of catering orders at my restaurant and I would never tell a customer they couldn't get an order. I don't care how short of notice it may be I would do my very best to accommodate them in whatever way I could. If our restaurant can accommodate large catering orders on short notice I do not for the life of me understand how Paris baguette will not accommodate one customer for one cake. This is absolutely crazy to me. On my way home I decided to call Paris baguette to speak with a manager and let them know what I had just experienced. However I was unable to get ahold of anyone. I called several times and there was no answer also no answering service so that I could leave a message. I feel that it is imperative that this company knows about how it's customers are being treated. I know this company is new to the avon community and they are driving away customers. I would hate for a restaurant that is new to the community to get such a bad reputation. Paris baguettes Google rating is only at 3 stars. This is horrible and also tells me that I am not the only one having a bad experience. I really hope that who ever owns this place reads these reviews. You have a wonderful product and I really would hate to see this place go under because it can't treat it's...
Read moreThis is my first time ever visiting a Paris Baguette. I’ve been patiently waiting for a closer one to open. Upon entering, the line wrapped around and the line blocked the front entrance. I feel that the store could’ve been made a bit larger or anticipated how the lines would form to not block the entrance.
I visited maybe 1or 2 pm on a Saturday, it was quite busy. Maybe 20 or more customers ahead of me. I moved up every few minutes. Most of the bakery items were sold out, with maybe less than 5-7 different pastry/bakery items in the cases to select from. They did refresh the croissant and another bakery item with cheese on it, while we were in line. There were also plenty of pre-made, refrigerated pastries in a cold case that were available.
Finally reaching the area where you may pick up a tray and your tongs, the trays were wet and unsightly to be using. They provided parchment paper to place on top… I did grab a few to help soak up the water.
While waiting in line, people were shoulder to shoulder and packed like sardines. Too impatient and won’t wait to grab their pastries. No respect or etiquette for personal space. It definitely detracted from an environment that is made to be elegant and pleasant.
From the bakery cases, I grabbed a hot dog croissant roll, some sort of egg tart, and a fresh croissant they brought out.
I finally reached the cake cases and selected a chocolate ganache and blueberry yogurt slice. The girl who took my order seemed quite aloof and not present. Since it was so busy and they’re behind the counter, I saw that she grabbed the ganache cake, but not when she grabbed the blueberry yogurt. It was in a box and I wasn’t able to see the contents. I also asked for a whole blueberry yogurt cake for an event I was attending later that evening.
When I reached the checkout, the POS card reader was down so I was not able to use Apple Pay, tap to pay. The checkout employees, again, seemed quite aloof and not focused. I can’t fault them too much with the high traffic and a lot going on during the opening weeks. New employees and high traffic is quite stressful. They were not equipped for this just yet.
When I finally got home, I opened up the box with the cake slices. I actually ended up receiving the chocolate ganache and a cheesecake. I was quite disappointed I was given the incorrect cake.
Overall experience was sub par. I will be visiting again because there are items I would like to try. Perhaps will have to wait when the hype dies down and visit much earlier in the day to be able to get the pastries I...
Read moreI decided to stop by this morning around 9am. It was my first experience ever at this establishment. They just opened on Friday I expected it to be busy and of course had maybe minor kinks. First the parking lot is extremely small for this type of bakery. If you plan on coming I suggest parking behind the buildings and just walk up to the front. My suggestion for management if they care about future customers returning is to literally have an employee at the door just explaining the process. A quick good morning/welcome would be nice. Also explaining the process to grab a tray/tong and pick what you would like from the bakery cases in front of you. Many of us were talking amongst each other completely clueless as first time customers on what to do. I mean I know it's not rocket science, but many of us just stood there looking around at each other. It was such a small place and the line and way things are is just chaotic. Imagine sardines swimming upstream and getting wacked with plastic trays because people don't understand just basic personal space or politeness. I ordered an iced vanilla latte, but unfortunately 3 hours into opening they were out of vanilla. I ended up getting a large iced hazelnut latte instead, which was great. I have pictures of the pastries I purchased for my husband and I. So far the one I tried was very good. If you plan on coming maybe wait until the kids go back to school?! I wish this place the best and honestly I think it will do well it's just different. The setup inside should've been more thought through...
