Lalo's Tacos and Pizzeria — Restaurant in Avon

Walked in around 8:00p after a 10 hour drive for night 1 of our vacation. 3 adults 2 kids. Ordered a calzone, cheese sticks, kids pasta and a large pizza, half pepperoni sausage. When the pizza came out, it had half pepperoni, half sausage, no plain side. At this point we were all tired and hungry so I asked for a personal plain pizza to replace the cheese side we didn’t get as my 3 yo wouldn’t eat the one that was brought to us. When the bill came I was charged for not only the incorrect pizza but the personal cheese pizza as well, AND they added the gratuity on. When I brought the check up to the front to pay I asked the girl about the cheese pizza being on there, that I thought it was incorrect because it was their mistake our order was wrong. I was told that she would need to speak with my waitress. When the waitress came up she said that I asked to add it onto the check, that she messed up, but I asked to add it. The only reason we needed it was because of her mess up? Why would I pay for her mistake? I asked to have it revised and she told me she was being told, “the best she could do was give me half off the personal pizza”, that we asked for because of their skrew up. When I told her that was unacceptable and I needed to talk to someone else, the first girl came back… what a joke. She said “you were told you could have a new pizza made or add the cheese one on” that’s not what happened and you would have thrown away the large incorrect pizza anyway? When she told me that’s the best they could do, I knew I was getting no where with them. If anything I should have paid half for the large pizza, that that they messed up, which is what ended up happening after they started speaking in a different language and then telling me “yeah we can do that because it’s basically the same as you paying half of the cheese pizza.” Zero customer service skills and you skrewed yourself out of a real tip by adding gratuity onto a 5 top with 2 kids. Nice try...

We went here on our vacation with a group of 6, after entering we realized they had a singular paper sign on an awkward far corner saying "We can't split checks for parties more than 5" so before we were sat we had asked and the young lady at the front said "If it's not busy, we could split your check" which we had no trouble with and was fine. Everyone we had interactions with were a bit rude, and it felt like we were being an inconvenience to them. When we originally went in we were one of two tables though. After taking our drink order, it took about 5-10 minutes for us to actually get the drinks, again, we were one of two tables. I get it though no big deal, there were people in and out picking up food, but after being rude and short with any questions that were asked, it was just kind of like, really? Once our food came out, no one single person from our party, who all ordered different things, had something really good to say about anything. The fettuccini Alfredo? Genuinely disgusting. There quite literally no flavour? Maybe a hit of butter but that's about it. You do get garlic bread with it, which is a straight up hot dog bun with some garlic and butter on it. Two of our friends had gotten pizza and they didn't really have anything good to say about it, it was okay. My partner had a single taco he ordered, and it got placed into our other friends order of tacos, not a big deal again just annoying at this point with everything else. Our last friend had also gotten a few fish tacos and bacon and cheese fries. It was shredded cheese that they melted in the microwave, you could see it still half melted on top, and the fries were soggy. This is just one of those places that I would never go back to. Both the child laborers they have servicing the front of house were quite rude. Taking our order was met with rudeness and snippy comments about the questions we had about the menu. Took a little over 10 minutes to get our drinks when we were the only people there. Genuinely only irritating because of principle and we could clearly see about a half dozen individuals ranging from the extremely elderly to small children running around in the kitchen doing nothing. We saw both of our servers multiple times walking around talking on their cell phones not servicing us. Now onto food. Small tacos, they were 4.5 out of 10. slightly tasty but dry meat. Did i mention small? The pizza was the best thing there. Nicely sized and its pizza not hard to mess up but come to think of it the personal pizza we ordered came out as a Pentagon shape. They mixed up our food which wasn't too bad but was just another thing to add onto the pile of bad. Our original server never once came back to our table after taking our order but went and laughed and talked to the family or family friends that came in after we were there for 20 minutes. Alfredo was foul stay away from pasta. Bacon cheese fries appetizer was handful of undercooked bacon shredded cheese covered fries that were microwaved to attempt to melt the cheese. Honestly I know it doesn't sound like it from the review however we are not hard to please people when it comes to food. Most of our party works in the food industry. After all of these things listed above and some I dont want to waste more time listing occurred we wanted to dine and dash. WE SHOULD HAVE. but we paid our bills and will just have to move on with leaving this review hoping it helps future customers avoid the same...
