Went into the store on 7/12. It was 8:45 in the evening. I was refused service by the employees as I was told the "machines automatically shut down 15 minutes early and that they are unable to serve me. I asked if this was protocol and was informed it was. I asked for the manager's contact information and was provided this. I called the manager directly following being turned away. I left the manager a voicemail. He never called me back. I called him again on 7/12 and was able to reach him. He took no accountability or offered any sort of apology. Instead he told explained that this was my fault that I wasn't served for going into the store 15 minutes before they closed. I explained that it isn't ideal to go into the store 15 minutes before the store closed, however, I was in the area and was looking for a healthy quick option to eat. He did confirm that the store employees are to close down everything 15 minutes before the store closes and that is typical for any restaurant. I asked the manager if I could speak with his boss as if it is policy to close down 15 minutes early as a standard, then the hours of operations should be adjusted. He told me "that is not going to happen. I am not giving you their contact information". He told me I should not have been given his phone number and hung up on me. I have so much higher expectations of a Manager. His lack of follow up and his attitude towards me on the phone left me feeling extremely frustrated. After speaking with the Manager I understand further why the employees had the same take on how to work with customers that enter the store. I have always loved this store but after this issue, it left me feeling like Tropical Smoothie Cafe cares more for their employees getting out of work exactly when the store closes rather than the customers that walk...
Read moreI recently saw a commercial for Tropical Smoothie Cafe for their açaí bowls and was instantly excited to try them! My husband stopped in after work and was pleasantly surprised to see the employees cutting up the fruit fresh and the bowls packed to the top of the to go container! My husband put them in his lunch box and drove the 20 minutes home and the bowls still looked great and tasted absolutely delicious!!! We are frequent visitors to Hawaii and have had many many açaí bowls during our time on Hawaii, Tropical Smoothie Cafe - you’ve done an excellent job of recreating something delicious and quite similar to what we’ve had on Hawaii. Add a little mango and pineapple and you’ve nailed it. We will be back again...
Read moreWas super excited to visit, but thoroughly disappointed upon leaving. Food was overpriced for what you get, panini was dry, and my smoothie had a bunch of little ice chunks in it that kept getting stuck in my straw. Also, the staff was rude. We were told that our food would be ready in a few minutes, so we quietly sat at a table to wait. A male teenaged employee (who we hadn't interacted with yet) set my food on the counter. I quickly jumped up to grab my food, smiled, and said, "thank you" to which he responded by rolling his eyes and turning away. The cashier seemed that she didn't want to be there, either. To me, these are all signs of managers who treat their staff poorly, and only care about profit. Will not...
