My rating is based on mostly on my experience today. I have been having lunch here multiple times a week for the past 2-3 months. Mostly for their “Taco Tuesday”. Tacos at $1.75 is great price and doesn’t break the bank. However today I was extremely disappointed when I went back after lunch to buy food to bring home to my family. I decided to buy something else this time as all my coworkers have said their mini street tacos were delicious! They even said the tacos were priced at $2.25 a taco. Today however between lunch and 5 pm the price was changed from $2.25 to $6.35 a taco!!! I asked to be sure as the prices were not changed on their menu boards. The cashier went to the back and asked and was told yes they just changed the price. I could not believe a MINI taco went up in price in a few hours from $2.25 to $6.35. I know some places have Happy Hour prices and even dinner prices but $6.35 for ONE MINI street taco seems to be way too much. Sadly to say if all of their prices have increased this much I won’t be back despite how good I think the food is. I was able to have my money refunded for the MINI tacos. I only ordered 4 to take home. I did order 8 chicken tacos at 1.75 and 1.2 pint of rice and 1.2 pint of beans for $2.75 each. The food is great but I would be sure for verify their prices as they changed in a matter of 5 hours today. I’m giving 2 stars because I think the food is good. But otherwise this experience is...
Read moreLet me start off by saying WOW!! I ordered two mini adobada tacos, they were filled with lots of adobada meat, onion and cilantro on a single tortilla.. Flavor was good, I think they would've been better with guacamole but that's just me.
I also ordered the California burrito, which I've got to say was one of the better ones I've ever had and the best I've eaten in Arizona. I grew up in San Diego/Tijuana which is where the original taco shops are from, so I know a thing or two about this type of food.. The carne asada, fries, pico and cheese were all combined to perfection, the ratio of each ingredient was perfect to compliment each other. Some sour cream in my burrito would have made it perfect, but that's just my personal taste. The burrito was pretty big and was folded properly, it held up good all through the last bite. They gave me 2 different salsas with my order which had a good flavor and were spicy but not too overwhelming.
I cannot comment on the interior of the restaurant because I ordered my food to go in the drive thru. Food was still very hot when I got home 10 minutes later. Cashier was nice, order was given to me faster than I expected. Some napkins would have been nice.. I will definitely be back! I paid almost $12 for the burrito...
Read moreCarne asada fries were good. Chicken quesadillas was meh especially for the price. Just cheese and chicken with the chicken being distributed amongst the quesadilla in 1-2 sections and the rest nothing but cheese. At the price I expected much more than something I can easily slap together at home with minimal effort. That said I liked the carne asada fries for the price. If not for someone carrying my to go order to me and not just yelling my order number and walking away leaving my order on the counter I may have rates service lower but to be fair 4 to 5 stars I reserve for well above expectation type service. Atmosphere wasn’t bad however it was super hot and clearly had no working Ac. There was a random guy leaning behind the counter on his phone who I wasn’t sure if he worked there and felt weird when he barely looked my direction when I walked in. Until someone came from the line to the register I had no idea if he worked there or not or if I should be approaching him to place my order. Food came out to me in a reasonable time. The location is not good as it seems many of the business spaces in that area are vacant. I suppose if I lived at the apartments right next to the area I’d order often for...
