I'd like to take a moment to provide a review to the owner and it's employees. This is review is a long time coming but I think it's more importantly delivered after a few weeks to digest it and then share accordingly.
I stumbled across World Of Sourdough. (W.O.S.) while running into the froyo shop a few doors down. I went into WOS to glance at the menu wondering if it's a place I can visit later.
I immediately told the gent at the register that I was picking up dessert but had a few questions about their favs. The dude was awesome, he provided a few recommendations and offered a small sample of the bread...it was killer! He then offered my GF and I a coupon when we come back. It's was such a cool vibe with great service so we came back a few days later.
Atmosphere- I brought along my gf and 13 year old who i might add, is semi vegetarian and a germaphobe. So much so that its annoying, haha. Anyways, Mal took our order and was super helpful. He was super attentive of my daughter's order and made some great suggestions for my meal. He then brought it out and started cleaning around the shop.
We all dug into the meal, it was hot, fresh and was way more delicious than we had anticipated!!!
While we ate my daughter noticed Mal cleaning bathroom handles and whiping down commonly used areas. My daughter immediately said, I love this place, it's so clean and she was right. It's almost like a nice restaurant stashed inside of a strip mall of small eateries.
Price/value- The price initially seemed higher than normal sandwich shops but because this place feels like a small restaurant, similar to say Islands or Carabas, the price point is actually a great deal based on the taste and quality.
All in all, we loved your establishment and will happily return...
Read moreI came in approx 15 mins before closing and was told I had to take my food to go because they were closing which was fine. We spent $42.00 on two sandwiches. We got our food and went to dine outside and two bites into my food was told they had to take the chairs cuz they were closing. Mind you the people who ordered after us were allowed to dine inside in the air conditioning. We got up and moved to a different places tables and the girl stacked up all the chairs and just left them beside the doors for another 20 mins. She could have just let us eat in peace and not run off paying customers. My sandwich had about a half bottle of mustard on it and that’s all you could taste and on a Rueben it wasn’t a good combination. All the other patrons who were allowed to eat inside were barley leaving the store as I was pulling away in my car 20 mins after I ordered and the chairs she made us vacate were still beside the front door. So why the attitude why the rush I dunno. Why were we the only ones who had to take their food to go. I was disappointed in the service the prices and the food. I was excited to try this place and now I’ll never go back. Let’s face it $42.00 for two 8” sandwiches two bags of chips and two fountain drinks is crazy. If it was good maybe it’d be worth it. But to be drowned in mustard to where my sauerkraut looked like Mac n cheese I couldn’t even decide how the food tasted because it was all mustard flavored. The employees seemed to have attitude because we came in 15 minutes before they closed. Bottom line is you’re customer service was horrible and I will be calling the manager of this...
Read moreThis place is a treasure that must be protected out here at all costs!!! Born and raised Sonoma County, we know our bread and delis, and are completely spoiled when it comes to them. Moving to AZ 20 years ago we quickly found out the utterly complete lack of delicious fresh bread. Spoke countless times to bakers out here regarding the issue which was the yeasts lack of growth in a dry environment. No humidity and low altitude equals stale and dry tasteless bread. And the delis out here are a joke in comparison, essentially they are subway and fast food types. Sourdough is a prized bread we hold the distinguish honor of making in Northern CA, that and soft rolls. World of sourdough trucks in fresh dough from their CA stores in order to combat this issue. And let me tell you this is an amazing sandwich!!!!!! A good deli and sandwich makes all the difference in my life from the good memories I have from CA...besides the horror of living there lol. This place is an absolute treasure!! Good sourdough has a crisp crunchy outer shell with a soft moist inner breading. Now there are sourdoughs that are soft and such, but for a sandwich, this type is key. The Mac and cheese here is creamy and amazing! Clam chowder is pretty good, very thick and creamy and in their bread bowl it's amazing! Very close to Bodega bays tide restaurant. The chowder just needs a bit more flavor, but it's up to the end customer to spice it how they want so I get their reasoning. Hands down best deli I've had out here...
