We went to this location last night, and instantly regretted it…. It was a Saturday night so we wanted to eat there and after grab some frozen yogurt next door but told the young man at the counter to make our order for to go since it was SUPER hot inside the restaurant. We did order aguas frescas but my mom can’t have that much sugar or soda so I asked the young man at the counter to get me a water cup for my mom and he said they aren’t allowed to do that. LIKE REALLY? A busy restaurant that has their A/C set this high on a 115 degree day like today can’t share a cup of water? Even after we just paid an almost $50 order of tacos and Aguas frescas? WOW OK! When we got home we noticed the tacos de asada were put in the same box as the Al pastor too so I guess keeping costs low is priority at this restaurant….the tacos were just below average and the Carne asada fries were ok but WAY TOO GREASY like it was just pouring out of the box. So… That is the last time we will go there, Tacos Calafia on the other side of 99th avenue and McDowell has much better tasting Tacos and salsa bar anyway PLUS they actually do have free cups for water here and actually do have good working A/C in their restaurants set to a...
Read moreI love the Tacos Dorados and always go to the Tolleson location. I also love the Cali Fries with carne asada. We live in Avondale and this is our 3rd time ordering to go from the Avondale location. Instead of ordering the tacos dorados, which are always good, I ordered the 4 rolled tacos. Biggest disappointment and mistake. Two of the rolled tacos had little to no meat in them and what tiny amount that was in them, was all dried up. They must have fell apart in the fryer and whoever made them didn’t care and served them anyway. See pictures below. I also wasn’t impressed with how I was greeted at the counter. The woman seemed irritated and annoyed to be doing her job. Not a very welcoming/good impression. I know it gets busy, but people still need to have customer service. If this was my first time coming here, it would have been my last. We love the tacos Dorados, but I will never ever order rolled tacos from here ever again. I can make them 100 times better at home. I called to talk to a manager but I was put on hold for way too long (it was a busy time) so I decided to write...
Read moreWOW, this place is amazing. Crazy that it's just tucked next to a movie theatre in a strip.
Everything we've had from here is good, and most of the stuff was way better than good. The mulitas and dorados de birria tacos were incredible, crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, loaded with meat. The carne asada is incredible, al pastor is good, the pollo is good, and the birria is amazing. Also, their red sauce bottles are delicious, I don't know if the make it in-house, but it's great. Nice and spicy without overtaking the flavor of the tacos.
It's super clean inside, the bathrooms are very nice and clean, the staff is always welcoming and nice, and it's cheap. My wife and I ordered pretty much a feast, and it was $24 for the two of us. It's not fast food-- food typically takes about 10 minutes to 15 if they're busy.
Will definitely be back a lot since we live just a...
