Today marked my final visit to this establishment. Although I have always been pleased with the food, the service was subpar. Our meal was satisfactory, but the delay in preparation was excessive. Pho House offers superior service, and I will patronize them instead, opting for quality over convenience, which was the reason for my visit today. Upon entering at 4:50, a time when the restaurant was not busy, with only one family dining, I placed a substantial to-go order totaling nearly $90. By 5:20, I inquired about the status of my order, only to discover that two of my meals were left out, getting cold, while the remaining items were still being prepared. The server assured me that my order was almost ready. Five minutes later, I approached the counter again to inquire about the status of my order. The server appeared annoyed by my repeated inquiries, which frustrated me, given the lengthy wait. I requested to speak with the manager, Valerie, who was also responsible for cooking. Although Valerie apologized for the delay, she made a condescending remark, stating that this was not a fast-food establishment. I found this comment unnecessary, as I am aware of the distinction. My expectation was for a sincere apology and a commitment to improving the service. A competent manager with excellent customer service skills would have handled the situation more effectively. When food preparation takes an inordinate amount of time, it would be prudent for the establishment to notify customers, as some individuals may not wish to wait. I have dined at numerous Vietnamese restaurants where food is served promptly, regardless of the establishment's busy status. Unfortunately, I will not return, and I will not recommend this...
Read moreI love Pho. I have had it home made and at many different establishments. I've had pho in almost every state I've visited. Whether it is hot or cold out I have it at least once a month. Having seen PT Noodles around the valley I decided I'd take the family out for an early dinner and give this place a shot. We decided to try the location at 99th and McDowell in Avondale. Entering the place, it was well decorated and gave off a relaxing yet up beat vibe. The waitress and staff there were awesomely polite and timely. I ordered my usual Pho Dac Biet (combination/special), my oldest son the Pho Ga, my youngest the chicken teriyaki and my wife only wanted the Basil Shrimp rolls. The food came out within 10 minutes. Tried my son's chicken teriyaki and it was decent. My wife had me try the Basil Shrimp rolls and they were okay. When the Pho came out I was impressed by the size of the bowls but the aroma that immediately hit my nose was not pleasant at all. The Pho smelled like old meat that had been left out. I decided I'd try it anyway and yeah, it was not good. The broth tasted how it smelled and was disturbingly cloudy, the noodles were sub par, the brisket was crumbly, and when I finally bit into the meat ball which is my favorite part of the dish, I almost puked. It meatballs tasted like soured meat. I immediately spit it out and we got the check. Not to bash the place, as the staff was amazingly nice, but I feel sick to my stomach thinking about it. 2 stars for your customer...
Read moreDoesn’t even deserve 1 star…. So bad. I took my family here tonight and was so embarrassed for bringing them. First of all the customer service of the two girls was horrible and slightly cocky/rude. Was not very attentive at all. Did not know the menu. The food is definitely not authentic at all and not worth their outrageous prices. The flavors are bland. I ordered bun bo hue and was so disappointed. First of all it was not hot like it was not fresh, the soup itself was not spicy and the noodles were not thick like authentic bun bo hue they were very very thin and very little. The meat tasted old. The pho that everyone got was lacking alot of flavor especially ginger. They took FOREVER to bring out our food like 45 minutes. The water tasted horrible like from a water fountain, the white rice my husband had was not even cooked all the way through and was crunchy. The bathroom was disgusting and smelled of urine! The music was blasting hip hop music and actually gave me a headache! Nobody wants to listen to lil rob while trying to eat diinner. Everything was just a bust. This location has definitely lost its spark from when they first opened i will never return here. King eggroll is still my number one in the west valley and i only came here because king eggroll was closed. Do not waste your money, the owner needs to come in here and correct so many things....
