Barley Brown's Brewpub is most excellent! We arrived at 6:30pm on a Saturday night with a group of ten happy beer lovers after have a couple of pints of delicious beer next door at the Taproom. We lucked out and they were able to seat us right away in the bar. Our server did an amazing job. She arrived with our beers very quickly after ordering them and the kitchen staff rocked our food. The appetizers came out hot, fast, and delicious. We had fried pickles, fried green beans, calamari, and mozzarella cheese sticks. The pickles were nicely breaded and fried circular slices. Tasty. The cheese sticks were good. The calamari was the good stuff!! Steaks - not those squiggly chewy tentacles. Yum! And the fried green beans were served with the most delicious aoli. We kept it and dipped fries from the burger order in it too. Not all aolis are amazing. This one is to die for! Dinner was served perfectly timed after the apps - all orders correct, hot, and extremely tasty. I had bangers and mash - so much food and so good. Tried the Death Burger too - what great flavor! The burger meat was a little more done than I prefer, but the flavor made that a rather moot point. I would order these again in a heartbeat. The whole pub was packed the entire evening. Sometimes people had to wait a little while for a table to open for them, but there is some seating near the door for waiting, and the turnover was smooth all night. It's busy because it's good and it makes you feel good. I eagerly await my next trip to Baker City, but moreover to Barley Browns - a real gem in the brewery business and some tasty food and pleasant atmosphere to go with it. Thanks for world class brews in an historic area. Thanks for making our weekend a really special one.

Started with a Point Blank Red, nice and malty. The wife had the Pallet Jack IPA, great hop nose and flavor. We shared a fish & chips and each got a side salad. The salads were very good, with different lettuce types, cherry maters, croutons and plenty of dressing on the side. The fish was very crispy with thin breading, not greasy at all. Tartar sauce was good, and Joe brought malt vinegar to the table which my half English wife is fond of. Fries were crispy and herb seasoned. The picture is of half the order, there were 3 pieces of fish and tons of fries. Joe did a great job as a server, even brought extra napkins, as it really is finger food. Nice ambiance in an older building, but lacking signage, probably historic district policies. All in all, great meal!

I really like the vibe of this place! It's very down to earth, dark inside with wooden seats and tables. Not only does this place have really good drinks, but the food here was yummy as well! This was the first place on our road trip where I tried country fried steak and it was amazing. The perfect thickness and size of meat, the Gravy was flavorful, I honestly had no complaints. My boyfriend got the steak and really liked it as well. He said the steak was nice and tender. We had some drinks with dinner and I really liked the boozy hot chocolate! It was cold outside so this was smoothing and not too sweet.

Not your average Joe. We stopped here on a drive from Seattle, WA to Ouray, CO. On a whim, really, as we needed fuel and the event in the town center caught our attention. Googled a nearby place and ended up here. Our server was Joe, and that's mainly what the review is about. As someone who has been on both sides of the customer service industry, I pay attention to and appreciate small things a server does. Joe informed us of a large party that was wrapping up their order so we wouldn't have to wait forever. He also volunteered to bring out a sample of a beer before being asked as he stated that it was quite spicy. He also noticed when one of our sauces was low and brought a new one out before even being able to be asked to do so. I don't think in all my years have I had a server just bring more of something out other than ice water, and even then that is hard to come across these days. Joe was also quick and happy to provide us with some company spstickers upon request. Too many negative reviews outweigh positives even in a 5 star establishment and I felt I had to give this positive review mainly because of the interaction with the server. The food and beer was also all great. If we ever come through Baker City again, we will be...

After a long day at Miner's Jubilee we wanted to eat at a nice place in Baker City, Barley Brown was our choice. We stood waiting for 15 minutes at the entrance before someone actually took our name to be seated. Then it was another 20 minutes before being seated, the place was not overly busy. We finally got seated, served wster and menus given to us. After taking our order it was 40 minutes before our dinners arrived, a hamburger for my wife and shrimp alfredo for myself. We had to ask for earting utensils because the lady serving didn't notice we had none, blamed it on the person who seated us. The hamburger was just ok based on what my wife said and my shrimp alfredo was dry and the shrimp was way overcooked and was like rubber. I left most of my dinner behind and noticed my wife didn't eat all of her hamburger. All in all it was a very poor experience and the last time we will eat there. We would not recommend the...
