Read moreSo today I visited El Capitan Mexican bar and grill and I must say I was impressed. By far one of the best Sunday brunches in Bakersfield. If you're looking for your typical American breakfast of eggs, pancakes or french toast, potatoes, bacon and sausage they have it. If you're looking for your typical Mexican breakfast of chorizo/eggs or menchaca with rice and beans they have it. Want some really good arroz con leche, it's here. Looking for menudo or some of the best pozole in town they have it. They also carry a lunch section that includes AWESOME chile Verde, chicken fajitas, spare ribs(which I haven't tried), cheese enchiladas, chicken flautas and by far the best birria de rez in town. The birria is soooo Rich in flavor it keeps you going back for not just 2nds but 3rds and is so tender to the touch it melts in your mouth. Now to the service, the ladies who work the Sunday brunch are some of the best servers I've ever had, even when it was busy they were still very attentive. The new owners are also very nice and attentive going to each table to greet their guest and ask how their meal is going. Great food and great service!!!! What more can...

But that's ok because, the El Capitan is excellent on its own starting a new level deliciousness. I went with a group of four to have some cocktails and a happy hour snack. We had as follows-
• carne asade street tacos (6) everything was great, good flavor and moist • plate of a Chili Verde burrito (wet) with rice and beans +cooked to perfection, great flavor • The Volcano EXCELLENT, dont change a thing!!! • chips and salsa +chips where crunchy, fresh and the basket was always filled the salsa was thin, too tomatoee and needed some heat • spiced rum and root beer good poor and made good enough the root beer was flat • house Margarita the mix was a little off and drink was weak • strawberry margarita w/a shot of tequila no complaints it was made excellent • ice tea it was very good • Pacifico ice cold
We are definitely going back we are...
