DOES IT COMPARE TO AKIRA TEPPAN??? I would say pretty darn close!
Yes it is not the same restaurant so of course it will not be exactly the same, so I wouldn’t go there with the same expectations until you TRY IT YOURSELF. In my opinion I COULDN’T TELL THE DIFFERENCE but I didn’t go that frequently to know exactly how everything tasted, service, etc. I did go there enough that it was the only teppan place I would go to in town.
Still get the SAME COURSE. Your get your miso soup, salad, choice of protein(s), fried rice, assorted veggies (the most obvious difference but not much), then end with ice cream. Prices seem fair but didn’t hold on the receipt and compare to other places in town.
Went for a birthday dinner on Friday, October 28 of 7 people so we had a whole table to ourselves. We had the head chef, JAY. He was INCREDIBLE! I would 1000% RECOMMEND HIM IF POSSIBLE. I been to a lot of these teppan shows in general (in and out of town) and his show was a breath of fresh air. Very nice, funny, and made sure we where all good with our food.
The only down I had was our waitress but she was training (this was disclosed at the beginning of dinner when she introduced herself) and it looked like she was handling the whole teppan section and wasn’t consistent on getting us refills on drinks when we where low (without us asking). Which I was a server (at a different restaurant) it just takes practice to get it all down. So I can’t fault on that, we did get refills.
Overall, I would come back. I was skeptical about trying it since other reviews where mixed but It’s easier to write a review for bad experiences than the good. So I knew I NEEDED to write a review for this restaurant since they NEED to be busier. For the time being I will take advantage of them not being busy right now so I don’t have to wait long for table. You all should...
Read moreI made a 7pm reservation to celebrate my daughters 16th bday. Originally I wanted a 6pm reservation but they said they could accommodate us at 7pm because they had a party of 25 at 6 pm. We all arrived on time and was seated. After being seated for over an hour I asked what time our cook was coming he said we have a party of 25 and his still there but his almost done. Soo we continued to wait after being seated for 2 hours and still no chef some our guest had to leave. I told the waiter that 3 of our guest had to leave to please cancel their order . Waiter was very nice an apologetic for having us wait sooo long. Cook finally made it to us at about 9:30pm 2.5 hours after our 7pm reservation. The chef rushed through the whole thing because he was soo behind and had another table waiting for him as well. Food was good but the experience was rushed and super delayed. I asked for the bill and of course everyones meal was still there including the the guest that left and did not eat. They adjust the check and remove it. I told the waitress “hey this whole experience was not very good”I get that you guys had a party of 25 but I had a reservation and my guest waited 2.5hrs to eat. I asked If they can compensate us in some way maybe like a little discount 10% (something). She said let me ask.. came back and said sorry unfortunately we cannot because we gave you free appetizers. I was like what appetizers we only got exactly what we ordered nothing more .. it was never even offered to us. She looks at our table and was like you didn’t get the appetizer, give me a second. Comes back and said I’m so sorry you did not receive the appetizers you should have received it but no we cannot do anything. I was like that fine we just want to leave we here for...
Read moreDiscussing sushi that smells rotten. I brought it to the waitress attention and she offered to take it away and then refused to take it off the bill. The soy sauce bottles stink, too high heaven and smell rotted as if they don't wash them and they just refill them. I showed it to her to smell and she told me I was wrong. It smells rotten & stuck. Even my daughter agrees it. Stinks. The waitress then gives us the bill to pay. Didn't even offer to take it off the bill. I guess she's calling me a liar. I am more concerned about money.
If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible experience.
