The Tower Craft Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I was a little nervous after the first time I went there that it could be a place I would have to give up on but my second trip was excellent. The first time my wife and I went for dinner and we didn't get what we were hoping for at $30+ a plate. Her filet mignon was cooked properly but was devoid of any seasoning or flavor. Our appetizer soups were pretty good although rather small (cup size) with no other size available. If we paid closer to $20 then I would be grumbling less. The ambiance of course is great as was the service. Our second try was for lunch and it was much better. Perfectly prepared and reasonable portions at the perfect price point, about $15 per plate. Quick Summary Very cool trendy bar that just opened up in a previous church. Pretty good food and drinks. Good service.

Food- 4 stars I had the lamb chops and they were pretty good. My favorite lamb chops in town are still at Woolgrowers, but these were a slight step below

Service- 5 stars Staff members are very friendly and attentive. Very accommodating on drink and food recommendations

Atmosphere- 5 stars Really large area with indoor and outdoor seating. They didn't really take away many parts of the church, as the side doors and congregation area are fully visible throughout the restaurant

Value- 3 stars It's a slightly more upscale bar. I wouldn't expect a great value out of it

The food was good and the venue was nice. Our server Kevin was great. It was honestly only small issues with the place. For example, we were in there at 9am for breakfast and the place had hip hop blasting. We would have imagined something a lol more calm like jazz or classical because it was early and the venue was so nice. Next we realized that although we were the first ones there our table wasnt clean. Why ? Next we noticed that the court yard was beautiful but had uncomfortable folding chairs to sit in.
